SHE'S ONE OF US - CHAPTER 12

                   

       

I Play Table Tennis

Semester holidays passed in the blink of an eye. The College reopened. With new freshness, Shree started to the college. The boy who came opposite , didn't show up that day. Shree reached  the college. She saw Shiba and Priya talking. Shree said "Hi Shiba and Priya , How was your holidays?". Shiba said "I watched movies , computer classes and enjoyed with cousins". Priya said "Me too joined Shiba and How  was your's Shree? ". Shree said "Nothing special, I helped Amma in household chores, did some research in cooking" and winked. She added "I read a  novel which Sai gave me. Totally it went well" and smiled. Priya exclaimed "That's fantastic!" and added playfully "How is Sai ?". Shree knowing her intention,  shrunk her eyebrows , smiled and said "He is good" and gave a  gentle pat on her shoulders. Shiba said "After two days the college for men reopens".  Shree said "Oh !Thats why the boy didn't show up today ?". Priya asked Shree " Which boy ? Whom you are talking about ?". Shree said "I daily see a boy on the way to college. May be he is been from the men's college". Shiba and Priya looked each other and said "Guru also goes by that way. By any chance , Is she talking about him ?". Priya shook her head and said  "No idea". Mona entered the conversation  and said "Hai , How are you Girls ?". Shiba said "We are good. How about you? and How was your holidays?". Mona said "I went to computer class, rest of the time I watched TV" and added " Shree , I asked you to join  for computer class, But you didn't ". Shree just thought a while and said "No , This is not the right time as I can't afford the fees". Everyone became silent. The prayer bell rang. The prayer began. Shree saw Mona and said "Oh God , Save us from this prayer soon. Can't tolerate anymore ...". Mona laughed. Prayer was over and  everybody got dispersed. While dispersed , 
Shree  saw Maha and  smiled. Maha just turned her face and hurried to the class. Shree couldn't stop laughing. Mona asked "Why are you laughing?".  Shree said "Nothing , It is a different story". The Classes started.

After Lunch , they had a physical training class. All First year students from different departments assembled. Shree fixed her eyes on the Physical training teacher. She was fit , looked rigid and determined. She walked like a lioness wearing spectacles. Shree admired her for the fitness even at the age of fifty, perfection , discipline and of course her strictness. The Physical Training Madam in a loud voice said "Good afternoon students, I am Mrs.Vasantha , I am the one who is responsible for your  Physical training" and she gave some instruction regarding the physical training period and its importance.  The Madam said "I want you all to give your names for some sports. Just come forward and let me know what sport are you interested ?". There was silence everywhere. After a minute Shree came forward. Mrs Vasantha said "Good , We got a girl.". Shree said "I am Shree and I play table tennis". Mrs Vasantha's eyes glowed in happiness. She exclaimed "Really!  We don't have proper team for Table Tennis in our college. To form a team , I require at least two more girls " and looked the crowd. Mina from Shree's class came forward and said  "I am Mina, I know how to play TT". Mrs Vasantha said "Good. One more". A girl from B.Com said " I am Raji , I will also join". Mrs Vasantha was happy and instructed all the three including Shree to go to Table Tennis room and practice. All three nodded their head and went to the room. They started their practice and played well. Mrs Vasantha came and watched their play and was quite happy. Mrs Vasantha said "I will arrange a coach. You all should be determined and dedicated. Within four months we are going to a district level tournament "  and added "Keep practicing , I want you to come an hour early before college and leave an hour after college". Mina and Raji nodded their heads.

At last It dawned for the prayer

Shree in a low tone said "Sorry Mam! Tomorrow evening,  I won't be able to come for the practice". Mrs Vasantha asked "Why?". Shree explained "My sister is taking classes for singing and dancing. There been a small stage programme arranged to exibit the talents of her students. Students of different teachers are participating. I am representing as a student of my sister and going to sing a couple of songs". Mrs Vasantha was double joy now and exclaimed "OH Girl ! You sing?". Shree smiled and said "Yes ,Mam". Mrs. Vasantha said "Can you sing the song for me?". Shree smiled and said "Of course , I will". She started singing. It was a song of Lord Shiva. There was a pin drop silence. Once Shree was done, Mrs Vasantha said "Wow! I felt like as if I were in Kailash mountains" and added "No excuses .. You are joining to lead the prayer tomorrow". Shree said "Yes Madam , But there is one more girl Priya in my class. She too sings well". Mrs. Vasantha said "Both of you join the prayer" and added "I was much worried about the prayer which is getting worse day by day". Shree nodded and smiled.

The Next day, Shree came jumping.  Priya , Mona , Mina and Shiba were talking. Shree said Mona "Hey Do you know the news ?". Mona giggled and said "Yes , Mina told us what happened in TT room". Shree smiled and hugged Priya "At last , it dawned for this prayer. You too going to join me and be ready". Priya hesitated out of shyness. Shree forced her and both of them went in front of the stage. One girl from BBA also joined them. Before the prayer get started , Maha got irritated and asked Shree and Priya "Why are you both standing here ?". The answer came from behind by Mrs. Vasantha. The Madam said "Maha , Hereafter they will sing the prayer song . As you  are the students's President, you take care of other things". Though Maha thought  that she got insulted , she gave a blank smile and starred at Shree who was smiling at her. Mona  smiled at Shree and Shree twinkled. The prayer was over and  Mrs. Vasantha was overjoyed. She was satisfied by the prayer and got a special appreciation from the principal too , which she shared with Shree and Priya. They both were so happy. Shree said Priya "If you keep on hesitating to come out with what you know , How will you shine ? Come out with your talents". Priya said "But, I am not talented as you ". Shree said "Come on , Stop it. You are super talented ". Priya smiled and nodded. Mona said "Prayer was excellent. Finally you made it" and chuckled. Shree too chuckled back. Every body went to the class.

Shree wants to be a new age woman which Bharathi visualized.

It was the language(Tamil) class. A lady with fit huge figure entered the class. Though she was strict , she had the sweetness in her language. The Next admiration for Shree began. The madam introduced herself "I am Kanaga, your Tamil lecturer". Shree and her gang were sitting in the first bench. The very first day, Mrs Kanaga liked the first bench gang . Mrs Kanaga along with her lessons , taught Tamil cultures , reasons behind them, and about Subramaniya Bharathi , The freedom fighter and a Tamil poet. Whenever Bharathi been discussed in  the class , Shree's eyes and ears were wide open. Shree already know who Bharathi was , Mrs. Kanaga added fuel to her fire. Shree became mad of Bharathi. She took the book "Bharatiyar poems" from the library and started reading it. She enjoyed singing his songs. She learnt feminism through Bharathi. Days went by,  Bharathi went deep into her heart. Though she is a science student, she did some small researches on Bharathi.

Next day , It was science class and HOD took the class. The HOD said "Our Ancestors were a great physicist and  Everything based on Physics, This world and our wonderful culture are all based on physics". The class was more interesting. HOD denoted Bharathi's poem with scientific explanation. Shree's mind said "Oh my god , What is the connection between Bharathi and Physics?  My Bharathi is a physicist ?" . That evening she rushed to the library and confirmed that her HOD was correct. But , everything was confusing. She didn't understand what Bharathi really meant in some of his poems. She seek help from Mrs Kanaga. Mrs Kanaga was very happy to help Shree and appreciated her interest on Bharathi. Time paced at high speed with Bharathi. Shree wanted to be a girl which Bharathi dreamed of. Her eyes glittered. She walked with more confidence. She shined like million stars.

The Unexpected.

Next day , HOD informed the student about the Physics Intercollegiate held in other college in the near by town and  asked the students to participate. Shree , Mona , Mina , Shiba and Priya gave their names. Girls from second year and   third year too joined. That evening , in the computer class , Shiba , Priya and Guru were talking. Priya explained him about the intercollegiate competitions. Guru giggled and said "Sorry Girls , I can't help you ,as my college is also participating" and sparkled. Shiba looked him with anger. Guru said "Hey , I was just kidding". Priya said "We don't require your help . We got a friend who was extremely talented. She will help us. Mark my words , We will win the shield ". Guru smiled and asked "Oh is it ? Who is that girl. I need to meet her too". Priya said "She is Shree , Our friend". Shiba said "She is coming to the competition and we all will meet there". Guru anxiously waited  to see who the girl was.

The competition day arrived. The Girls caught a bus and reached the place. In the mean time , The boys from the Men's  College also arrived. Both were boarded in the same bus, but didn't notice each other because of the crowd in the bus. Shree and one of her senior , registered all their names at the entrance . Shree just turned back and about to go inside the venue. She thought for a while and turned back again and was surprised. A pair of curious eyes were fixed on her. Shree called Shiba and whispered   "Hey , Just don't turn back now , The boy standing in the registration counter is the one whom I saw daily when I come to college. I told you that he may be from Men's college. So, I am right ". Shree went forward. Shiba slowly turned back and saw Guru standing at the registration counter. He smiled and Shiba smiled back.

And Now I hear from you " Chella ! We are curious to know when Shree and Guru will meet? What will be their reactions and emotions when they get introduced? What role Guru going to play in Shree's life?" . I understand your curiosity. All I say is  Patience Patience Patience ....

SHE'S ONE OF US - CHAPTER 11

                                                                     

A BEAUTIFUL TRAP


Sai left Shree's home that day in high spirits carrying tonnes and tonnes of love for Shree in his heart. On the way home , he smiled himself. After a minute , he realized that he was smiling alone. He felt weird. He reached home . Next day , from the moment he woke up in the morning to the moment he went to sleep , he was possessed by Shree's thoughts. Sai  got into a trap. Yes , Falling in love is getting into a beautiful trap set up by nature. It is a natural occurrence , no point in fighting.

That evening Sai went to Shree's home. Shree was alone. Sai asked "No one there? Where is Amma?". Shree said "Amma went to near by shop to buy some vegetables. Akhila and Appa are yet to come". Sai said "Oh Ok ! Then what about tuition ?". Shree said "No tuition today ". Sai became twitched. He decided to propose his love. His heart said "Sai, Do not miss this opportunity. This is the right time". Sai called Shree who was busy reading a book. Sai said "Shree. What do you think of me?". Shree was bewildered "Why are you suddenly asking this question ?". Sai said "Answer me". Shree smiled and said "You are a good person. I got plenty of affection and respect towards you". Sai said "Is it ? If I tell u something . Will you agree ?". Shree was confused and said"Agree What ?".  Sai like a house on fire said "I love you". Shree was stunned for a while and smiled and said "Me too". She came near him and looked deep into his eyes. She rested her head on his shoulders. Suddenly Sai got a jerk and said "Oh my god , It's a dream". The clock stroke 4.00 A.M. Sai giggled himself and gave a gentle pat on his head. Suddenly Sai's face became deadpan. Beyond the beautiful love feeling , a scary feeling conquered his mind. Shree's Mom , Dad and Akhila faces came in front of him. Akhila said Traitor. Shree's mom angrily shouted Cheater. Shree's Dad with gloomy face said Betrayer. Sai was totally worried now. His heart said "What the family will think of me. If Akhila knows this , She will slap me on my face. Oh no... Finally What Shree will think of me. They all will think I helped them with this dirty mind". Love is always confusing and Sai was not exceptional. His heart became heavy. There was a great war between his affection towards the family and  the Love for Shree. Finally the family won and the love  for  Shree got defeated and so he concluded to bury his love in his heart. Next day , he went to the temple and prayed that love for Shree should be no more in his heart.


I DON'T KNOW "MAGIC" , BUT I KNOW "YOU"


Meanwhile First semester exams arrived. Shree was focusing on her subjects. She notified the students to study on their own for a week till her exams got over. Shree instructed the students "Any doubts call me , I'll be downstairs preparing for my exams". She sincerely prepared for her examinations. Sai arrived that day. Sai said "Hai". Shree smiled and said "Hai , Excuse me , I need to prepare for my examination" and  she moved into a room and locked the door. Shree's Mom said "Sai , You want anything to eat". Sai in a trembled tone said  "Water". Mom gave water for him. The  trembling continued with his hands. His hands shook when he got the glass of water from Shree's Mom. He managed and asked "Amma ! When Shree's University exam starts". Mom said "After Two days". Sai stayed there for another five minutes , Then he bade a bye to Mom and left home.

Next day , Sai showed up as usual. He saw Shree sitting and reading her subjects. Sai asked Shree "How was your preparations going on? ". Shree said "Going good" and added "But , I don't have good pens for underlining the important points as others have. I am much worried about the presentation in exam". When Shree stopped , Sai took up a beautiful pouch from his pocket and gave  Shree and smiled. He said "Now Happy ?". Shree was over joyed and exclaimed "Yes , Indeed! ". The pouch contained four brand new pens , It was brown ,pink ,violet and a black pen. Shree exclaimed "How did you know , I need these pens, Do you really bought it for me or ?....". Sai smiled and saw deep into her eyes and said "If Shree thinks something , Sai will feel it and will get to know that". Shree smiled and shrunk her eyebrows "Is it ? Now  I 'll ruminate something , you need to find out". Sai playfully smiled and  said "Okay , Will do my best.". Shree closed her eyes  said "I am done , Now  tell me what I think ?". Sai said "Shree's mind thinks  that she should get full marks in all her subjects". Shree opened her eyes and saw  Sai standing before her with a beam of smile. She exclaimed  " Do you know any magic?". Sai laughed and said "Hey I don't know magic, but I know you" and twinkled. He added "Do your exams good. Next week , I won't come. All the best". Shree said " Double thanks for the wishes and the pens". Sai said "I'll take up your thanks for the wishes , but not for the pens". Shree smiled and she was surprised that Sai became a great well wisher for her.



                                              
                                                         


 

I NEED TO MEET GURU

These days on the way college and home , Shree used to see a boy coming opposite to her,  in a cycle, accompanied by his friend.  His face became  so familiar for Shree as she daily see him. The boy too noticed Shree. The boy looked handsome ,wheatish , with curious eyes and looked like a student. The boy thought Shree was beautiful with  a familiar face and looked smart. The boy was so curious to know who was Shree. All he could see was a thilak , (religious symbol) on her fore head everyday and thought she must be devoted. He daily expected her as he liked her so much. That day , Shree started to the college. On the way , She as usual caught sight of that boy,  In fraction of seconds while crossing , their eyes met each other. She went to the college. She saw Shiba and Priya talking about someone. Shiba said "Guru is intelligent and smart". Priya said "Yes ,Indeed , He is ..". Shree said "Girls , Whom you are  talking about ? Who is Guru?". Priya said "Guru is our friend . He is living near our place. He too doing First Year Physics like us in the College for Men which is on the other  side of the town". Shiba added "He use to help us with our subjects ". Shree raised her eyebrows and said "That is Fantastic!". Priya said "He also  promised us  to help with the projects". Shree got curious "Is it ? Really ? Interesting ..Introduce him to me . I need to meet him too.". Shiba and Priya  glanced each other and said "Okay! We will".  Daily she heard something great about Guru through Shiba and Priya which made more curious to see him.

The Exam day arrived . She got ready  with her hall tickets and all her exam materials. In each exam she got reminded of the senior professor,  which made her take the exams more serious. These days she got cultivated by her professors in learning the subjects. She was going to sow her seeds of hard work and struggles on the papers. Exams were all over. Shree was quite confident about her exams. Everyone in the college bade bye to each other . Hurrah! , the Semester Holidays began.

And Now I can hear you saying "Chella! This Episode is quite happy. But , Will Sai  change his mind to propose his Love for Shree ?. Who is that Guru ?. He do have a vital role in Shree's life .Soon U'll get to know what it is . Always Patience required ... Friday is not too far , I suppose :)

SHE'S ONE OF US -CHAPTER 10

"I KNOW YOU WILL SAVE ME"

The next Saturday morning , Sai arrived. He realized the home wasn't  home. Sai said Amma "So quiet today ? Where is Shree and Akhila ?". Mom said "Akhila went for her classes and Shree may be outside or upstairs". Sai added "Amma ! Is something wrong ? Any problem? ". Mom said "Not really , But we have  a marriage proposal for Shree and today evening the family is arriving and the proposal will be finalized today". Mom  also described about the marriage proposal and what actually happened. Sai was dumbstruck. Sai said "I didn't arrive for three days and these many things happened , Amma ! Can I meet Shree now ?". Mom shrunk her eyebrows and said "It is unusual that you ask permission". Sai gave a fake smile and went to upstairs. Without any noise , like a cat , he came and stood near Shree. He saw Shree with her back facing  him and was starring the sky . She didn't notice Sai standing by her side. The moment she wiped her droplets from her eyes, she noticed Sai , with his eyes fixed on her. She didn't expect Sai that day. She pretended as if she was  happy with a fake smile and asked "When did you come?". Sai said " For the past five minutes , I was standing near you , But you are not in this world . What's going on ? ". and added "I am very much upset when I heard about the marriage proposal? How can this happen?". Shree again turned and fixed her glance on the sky. Sai added "I am really wondering , Can poverty leads the family to make such a worst decision?".  Shree remained silent. Sai said "Shree , Look at me and answer. I am talking to  you . Do you have anything in your mouth which stops you from talking? Come on speak up". Shree turned to him expressionless and said "What to do ? What to say ? Nothing to do and Nothing to say". Sai was angry and felt completely down and couldn't tolerate. He thought he wasn't worth a human as he couldn't help Shree. He bent his head down and his eyes were red and said "Is that the stupid fate decides good people life? . I am leaving now,  as I couldn't see you like this". The next moment when Shree turned ,She couldn't find Sai. Tears poured down from her eyes .

Two days later ,Sai with gloomy face arrived home. Shree was as usual energetic and was taking tuition. She saw Sai ,who came upstairs. She smiled at him, But he didn't smile back. Shree tilted her head and said "Where is the standard smile on your face ? ". Sai stood silent. Shree said "Oh my God ! What happened to you ? What is wrong with you ?. Did Latha called you ?. Are you worried because of  that?". Sai said "I will be down stairs. Once you are done with your tuition , Call me". Shree nodded. After the tuition , Sai came upstairs and said " Amma told me that everything would be finalized the day itself. How can you smile ?, but I can't ". Shree smiled and asked  "Why ?". Sai couldn't talk. There were lot to say , but the words were caught inside his throat and he choked.  Sai managed and  in a low tone said "I don't know. My heart aches when I heard that you are getting married to a widower.? You are only nineteen and studying......". Shree heard everything with a smile. Shree said "Okay ! What Latha saying ?". Sai starred at her and said "What am I talking ... and Why are you changing the topic. That is not at all important". Shree said "It is important. Don't ever say that". Sai was annoyed . He turned and glanced the sky. Shree said "Okay Okay . Can't you judge with my smile that everything is okay". Sai said "Everything okay means what  ?. No I can't judge , because you learnt to smile for everything and make fun of even bitter things you experience". Shree laughed and said "I don't want to see you sad anymore, Here comes the flash back". Shree started telling what actually happened that day when the IAS officer family arrived.

Two days before , That evening ......

IAS officer's Mom and Dad came home. They were  well educated. The officer's Dad was an ex-collector. Shree's Mom said " Sorry , I like to tell you one thing .As of now we don't have an idea about our elder daughter getting married". The officer's Dad was bewildered. Shree's Dad added "Our younger daughter will get married to your son". The Officer's parents were watching the family very closely. They could feel the sadness and unwillingness for the proposal. They also understood the poverty made them decide this. The Officer's Dad said "How old is she? I mean ,your younger daughter?". Shree's Dad said "She is nineteen and she is doing her First Year Physics in the Women's college nearby". The officer's parents looked at Shree and said "She is too small" and Officer's Dad said to Shree's parents "Yes we are searching for a good  daughter in law who plays a dual role as a wife and a mother. Please don't mistake me. As,  me and my son play a vital role in the society , We shall not arrange a marriage for a girl who is studying and turned just nineteen and I shall not make use of your poverty , if so I am a selfish person. We will find some other alliance. Thank you" and turned to Shree and said "What is your plan after your degree?" . Shree was very happy and said "Uncle, I want to do my PG and PHD in Physics and become a Professor in the college , But Now, On seeing you , I like to become an IAS officer, but I am not  intelligent as you" and twinkled.
The officer's Dad said "It is not a big thing. If you have that idea really , you can seek my help. If you think you can , You will achieve. All the best" and smiled . Shree too smiled back and the family left.
Everyone in the family was relaxed. Shree ran to her Raghavendra swamy and said "I know you will save me" and took the picture and kept close to her heart.



SHREE RE-BUILT SAI'S BROKEN CASTLE

Shree said everything to Sai. Sai was so happy. He took a deep breathe. His heart became so light. Sai said "Thank God , Nothing happened. You know these two days I felt like as if I had been lost in darkness". Shree smiled and said "You are happy right and now answer my question . Did you talk to Latha ? What she said ?". Sai stood silent for a minute and said "Please Do not ask that". Shree was confused "Oh Why? What happened ?". Sai was not ready to say anything about Latha. But Shree pulled words from his mouth. She started pestering him. Finally she was annoyed and said "I am not going to  talk to you till you tell" . Sai said "Okay , I will tell , Here comes a flash back again".

A Week before , In the evening Sai called Latha. He was nervous. After three rings , Latha picked the call. Sai in a trembled voice "Am I talking to Latha ?". The voice at the other end said "Yes , Latha speaking , May I know who is this ?". Sai said "I am Sai". Latha realized with whom she was talking. Out of shyness she paused for a minute. Sai said "You there?". Latha in a trembled voice "Yes". Sai said "How are you ?". Latha said "I am good". Sai asked "Won't you ask me the same question?". Latha chuckled and said "Sorry , How are you ? and I am a bit nervous". Sai felt like a hero and started to duet with her. Latha asked "What you doing ?". Sai said "I just joined as a lecturer in a college. What about you ?" . Sai was so keen to get an answer for this question ,  as Shree insisted the same question twice to him. He decided, next time when Shree asks this question , He should proudly answer her. Latha said "Didn't my Aunt tell you ?". Sai said "No , but she told to wait for five more years , Why so long ?". Latha again chuckled and said "I am doing my eighth standard in Girl's  Higher secondary school". Sai bewildered and said "Hey , You are just kidding right ?". Latha in a little high tone "Why should I ? , Really I am doing my Eighth standard and my family has planned my marriage once I am done with my higher secondary" . Sai was shocked and felt ashamed and his heart broke into pieces. He couldn't talk anymore. He had built a beautiful love castle in his heart which was completely broken. In his dream of duet , He gave a hard slap on Latha's cheeks and said "Being in Eighth standard , Do you need love ? Stupid . Go and concentrate on your studies. Nonsense". Sai heard a shouting from  Latha in phone  "You there ???" and came into the real world. He disconnected the phone without a Bye. The next day when he went to temple , Sai met Latha's aunt and scolded upfront. Sai said " I thought she was a big girl by seeing her figure and her matured face , But at least you could have told me that she is doing her eighth standard. Latha's aunt said "Is it a big issue?". Sai was annoyed and said "Why not , Definitely . Falling in love with a kid, Totally nonsense . Tell her this and ask her to stop dreaming about me. It is just an Infatuation.  I totally erased her thoughts from my heart. Good bye" and left the temple.

Shree been opened half mouth while listening, When Sai stopped , She couldn't stop laughing. She laughed out loud. Sai too joined her. They both laughed and laughed. Shree kept on  thinking the same and laughed continuously . At one point Sai stopped laughing and watched her eyes silently. She had tears in her eyes while laughing. There was a "Boom" in Sai's heart too , like Shree had before when her hands were around Sai's shoulders , But the difference was , Sai realized that  he deeply fell in love with Shree.


And Now , I can hear you saying Chella! Thank God the marriage proposal went like a dew in sun.
The  reason for Sai -Latha  love breaking definitely would made you laugh like Shree. I also understand your eagerness that  how Sai going to propose his love for Shree.
Will the love be proposed  or buried in his heart?

REUNITED IN UNITED STATES .

Back to US.

It was a great adventure travelling with two tails, as we say passing seven hills and seven oceans.
Filled with lots of packing and unpacking.
Checking in at the airport ,hectic it was with two little one running without listening.
I was the only one who was shouting and running behind the kids.
Stroller helped a little ,but Shrinika always prefer to run, She enjoyed but I struggled.
Sanjive kept on pestering me for juices ,food and for potty several times.
It was funny to flush the toilet in lavetory for him and kept on pressing the help button unnecessarily ,again he enjoyed ,I got pissed off.
Headaches ,sleepless eyes ,tiredness.

Feeding the kids, Compromising the fights ,Crying without reasons ,they both drove me crazy.
I turned around ,closed my eyes  and took a deep breathe and said to myself "Patience ..Patience "
At last they slept for few hours. I was a bit relaxed.
They got up .Gosh ! The second innings started.
The announcement which I heard was more convincing.
Shhhhhabbba....It was only half an hour to land at Houston.
Being waited for almost 24 hours ,I couldn't wait for this half an hour.
It would have been fantastic if I had the magic of controlling the time.
Severe Ear pain added to my incovienience.
Got out of flight  with heads rotating.
Somehow managed the imigration.
Hurried to claim my baggages. Seeked help from a person.
Got hold of the kids and ran to the exit gate.
Awwwww.Oh my god! .I forgot all my inconvenience, struggles ,head aches ,ear pain ,tiredness.
My sleepless eyes became double brighter.
I could see Sasi waiving his hands.
Butterflies flew in my heart.
Sanju ran saying Daddy....We both hugged him.
Shrinika blinked a while and jumped on him and caught hold of his shoulders.
She refused to come to me.She continuously saying Dhhaddy Dhhaddy.
The most happiest moment in my life.
If this much happiness is the result of these many struggles ...I always welcome them.

SHE'S ONE OF US -CHAPTER 09

Unfelt Love bloomed!

Days went by. Sai became a very close friend of Shree.They discussed lot of things and topics. Shree started discussing each and everything that happened daily to her.
They became best friends. Shree asked Sai "How is your love ?". Sai said Shree "The lady who accompanied the girl was her aunt and she talked to me that the girl likes me so much and if I am also interested ,she said she will talk to the elders in their home and make necessary arrangments in future, But she said I have to wait for 5 years. Shree said " Oh .Five years .Thats fine if you really love her. It is worth waiting ". And continued "Tell me about her .you know her name ? What she is doing?". Sai smiled and said "Her name is Latha. But still don't know what she is doing .Soon will get to know. I got her landline number and will call her today to know about her more". Shree smiled and said "I am waiting to know " . Sai  left that day.

That day ,Akhila came home happy with a smile holding a small kit. Mom asked "What is that?". Akhila asked "Where is Shree?". Mom said "She 
is in upstairs taking tuition". Akhila ran upstairs and in an enthusiastic tone "Shree. Can u come down for a minute". Akhila never called  Shree like this before.
Though she was eager ,Shree shrunk her eyebrows and said "I am busy . Not now..". Akhila said "Hey Don't do too much.Come down". Shree smiled and came down. Shree asked "What ?" and saw the small kit. Shree anxiously asked Akhila "Hey What is it?". Mom too was so eager and asked "Akhila! What is this?". Akhila looked them both, opening the parcel said "Wait ...".
Shree's and Mom's eyes were fixed on the kit. Akhila opened the kit. Shree screamed out of happiness "oooooh Ahhhhhh." 
Akhila was so happy to see Shree jumping and screaming out of joy. The reason for her joy was a Mobile phone which is the basic model of Nokia. Mom was happy. Akhila said "Now a days, 
it is a basic requirement to have a Mobile phone". Shree exclaimed  "OH my god... I used to see people sharing their mobile numbers in the college. When they ask my number. 
I will reply that I don't own a phone . People will look  me differently and hereafter me too can give my number . Oooh yayyy ". Akhila inserted a sim and put the  
mobile in charge. Shree looked at the mobile phone smiling and asked "Akhila , Whom did we call first?". Akhila said "Sai .. Let it be charged first". Shree said 
"Okay. Wait till my tuition get over. Hey Don't make a call without me". Akhila smiled and said "Okay". After tution, they dialed Sai's number. Sai attended the call.
Akhila turned on the speaker. Sai said "Who is this?". Shree got ready . Akhila in a lower tone said "One ..two three". Both of them shouted "We got a new phone" .
Sai understood it was Shree and Akhila. Sai was so happy and said "Superb . Tommorrow , I will come and see the phone". Shree said playfully
"If you need to contact Shree, the Great , Call me this number". Sai smiled and said "Hey Chatter box, If you keep on talking, Akhila won't recharge the phone."
Shree pretended to be annoyed and handed the phone to Akhila. Akhila said "Sai, see you tommorrow , Bye Good night". Shree's father reached home.
Akhila and Shree showed the phone. Dad asked "Akhila How much is this?".Akhila said "Appa !Two thousand Rupees". Shree was shocked and said "Two thousand Rupees. Such a huge amount".
Mom asked "So , Akhila , The salary you give this month will be two thousand rupees less and how will I manage". 
Akhila said"No worries. It is my savings and Shree too saved her pocket money and gave me when I asked her". Shree said Akhila "But you didn't tell a word that you are going to buy a mobile phone" . Akhila smiled. Mom and Dad was so happy. 

"Shree's family decided to move to a  little better home as the current home was too small and Shree could not manage the tuitions as the 
number of students were thiry now. Next day , Sai came and saw the phone. Sai said "Amma!  phone is too good" . 
Mom smiled and said Sai "This weekend we are going to shift our home". Sai asked "Amma . Where?". Mom explained him and 
added "Sai , It is good if you can also help us". Sai said "Sure Amma" and left the home.The house was half a kilometer 
from the current home. Shree's family did not have enough money to book a tempo
for moving the articles ,So they decided to rent a  six wheeler cart to move the articles  which need to be pulled by people.
They should make about twelve trips in the cart to move the entire home .That week , Akhila went out of town due to some emergency for her friend.
Shree called Sai for help. Sai arrived in fifteen minutes after the call. Sai was very tired but still he managed to make three trips.
He was not well and he had a slight fever. Without minding it, Sai started helping with the things and arranging in the cart. Shree and Sai pushed the cart together.
They talked and laughed while pushing the cart. Meanwhile Shree's mom and Dad were arranging for the next trip in the current home.
Two trips completed and that was the third trip. Sai was still more tired as  his temperature raised.
They both were arranging the things in the new home and Sai stood on a stool and kept the things in the loft and Shree rendered the things from 
down. At one point Sai realised that he could not manage and he felt giddy. While Shree saw something was wrong when he struggled to get down from the stool.
She just got him around his shoulders and it was a mere accident. She became nervous for two reasons. One, Sai was not well and the next ,  for the first time 
she was holding a guy in her arms. There was a "BOOM" in her heart. The Love bloomed without her knowledge. Still she didn't realise that it was "LOVE".
Sai thanked her and  hurried home. The next two days she expected him, but he didn't turn up.

The Dignity!!

The third day Sai arrived .Shree asked him "How are you now. Are you Okay?".He said that he was affected by viral fever and was alright now.
Shree had stories to talk about three days. She started telling all the stories and incidents happened those three days and how she felt when he 
didn't arrive for the past two days. Sai was asusual silent and listened her.Time paced at a very high speed when he was by her side.
Shree don't want him to leave. Shree became so attached to him to the extent that she couldn't survive without seeing or talking to him. Shree asked Sai "Did you call Latha?" . Sai with no expression said "No ". Shree understood that he was not interested to talk about that and said "okay ,after you call her ,let me know"
When he about to leave her home, She would beg him to stay for five more minutes and so she could make him to stay in her eyes for extra five minutes.
The affection multiplied day by day. Still the "Love" not been revealed by both of their hearts to them. The next day she went to college and returned home asusual.
That evening there came a slight headache for Shree in her tuition. A Girl from a very rich family doing her 10th standard came with her father to join her tuition 
and that was the headache. The father of the girl heard about Shree through their friend and he wanted her daughter to join the tuition. Shree talked in the
same way as she talked to others.The man just looked around her home and his face changed. He asked her "How many students are here". She said politely 
"Sir, it is around thirty students" and added "I have divided the students in groups and so that i can concentrate  on each and every student".
The Man was not happy with that environment. He told Shree "Don't mistake me. I want my daughter to be concentrated individually and give her a special attention".
Shree said politely  "Don't worry Sir,each and every student studying in my tuition is very important to me and they are all treated in a same way".
The Man was not happy with the answer . He said "How much you earn for these thirty students". Shree's face changed slightly. But the man didn't expect an answer 
from Shree. He continued "I will give you double the money and one more thing is , I don't want 
my daughter to come here and I want you to come to my home". Shree had a strong feeling of annoyance. But still she smiled and said politely "Sorry.This is my tuition and 
I have struggled to make the tution to bring up to this level" She added "Sir,You Don't mistake me. It is only worth when we go behind Education and Arts. It won't come 
behind us, even if it comes it is not worth at all. Hope you understand". The man glanced at her for a few seconds and he stood up and said "You should learn to live".
She smiled and  said "Okay ,So what have you decided?". The girl came forward and said "I want to join the tuition". The man had no other option.
Shree smiled at the girl and asked her to come from the next day.
The students were listening the conversation. They got afraid that Shree would accept that offer. Once the man and the girl left. There was a big applause from the students as an appreciation. Shree put her index finger on her lips and said playfully "Sshhhh. No noise ". The students were so happy.

 
Shree turning Nineteen!

That day was Shree's birthday. Shree was upset that nobody bothered about her birthday. She turned Nineteen. Akhila bought a new dress for Shree. Akhila said "I got
 a packet of chocolates too. Enjoy your day". Shree exclaimed "Hurrah ! You are awesome. But you could have told  this yesterday. Atleast I would not have worried 
and  also dreamt about the new dress and sweets" and sparkled her eyes. Akhila said "Because of the suspense I can see double happiness on your face and thats what I want. Happy birthday".
. Shree smiled and said "Thank you Akhila". Mom and Dad said "Happy birthday Shree" . 
She  got blessing from both of them and got ready for the college with new dress and sweets. She had a very good  time in college.
That evening, Shree's mother and Father had a news. In home, Mom and Dad and a strange person was sitting and discussing something. 
Shree arrived from College. She was surprised to see her Dad and Akhila in home that time. Shree saw Akhila standing with sad face. 
She saw Shree and went inside the kitchen. Shree was confused about the  strange person  whom she had never met. She was also bewildered of the sad face of Akhila. 
The discussion continued. Shree watched them closely. After hearing the conversation 
Shree ran inside the kitchen and whispered "Akhila , You know what they are talking about?" . Akhila in a sad tone "I know. It is about the marraige proposal of mine".
Shree smiled "Hey , It is a good news , But I'm wondering why are you sad". Akhila kept silent. Shree said "Wait , I will go and hear what they talk".
Through the conversation, First thing Shree came to know the family is wealthy.They are highly educated and modern. Shree was happy that Akhila's life going to be
happy. Still confused why Akhila was unhappy.The boy was 27 years old. Shree said to herself "Age is fine". He is the district collector. Shree was overjoyed. She
jumped inside the kitchen and hugged Akhila "Hey your are going to be Collector's wife. I will say proudly to my friends that my sister got married to an IAS officer"
Still Akhila was sad . Shree asked "Are you mad? Why are you sad?". Akhila stood silent. Shree again went to the living room. Finally the news about the boy made her 
stunned and speechless. Shree came with the sad face and saw Akhila. Tears came out from her eyes. Akhila asked "Are you mad to be happy that I get married to IAS 
officer. Don't you have a common sense. Don't you think why the IAS officer guy like to marry a girl from a poor family like us.". 
Shree said innocently "Why ??? Will IAS Officer marry only a rich girl ?". Akhila couldn't talk anymore. Shree said "But how could this happen. The man is a widower
and I heard the  strange person saying the guy lost his wife six months back in an accident and have a seven months Baby girl and they are searching a girl who is kind
and responsible". Being a poor family , Mom and Dad convinced Akhila to accept this. Atleast they can see one of their daughter well settled. The Poverty made them to
decide this. Shree came near Akhila "Break your silence and Speak up". Akhila said Shree wiping her tears "I don't like this proposal , not because the bride groom 
is a widower and has a girl baby. I don't like to get married now. I have lot of dreams." Shree with eyes full of tears fixed her glance on Akhila. 
Akhila added "As an elder daughter, It's my duty to bring our family to a high position and but not like this". Shree believed Akhila was extremely talented and 
She could definitely acheive what she said. Shree said "You could have told this to Amma and Appa". Akhila said "It is already decided . They have given their words
 to that family. Nothing can be done". The stranger left. Everyone in the family including Shree were in the living room. Mom said "Tommorrow the family is arriving. Get ready". Mom 
gave instructions for everyone. Shree interrupted and in a bold voice "I will marry him and not Akhila". 
Everybody was shocked including Akhila. Akhila said "Are you mad ?".
Mom and Dad was  confused. Shree said Akhila "I am not"  and looked at her Mom and said " Amma! If you want to settle one of your daughters. Let that be me".
and added "Akhila got dreams. She is very important to our family than me. Disappointments and failures are not new for me. Though Akhila struggles, 
She always get what she wants. She should not be disappointed. I learnt to go with whatever I get in my life. I am fully aware about the proposal and I am not afraid 
of anything. I accept this proposal with my full heart and I am not sad " and twinkled her eyes seeing Akhila and said "Hurrah ! I am going to marry an IAS officer". Though Mom and Dad hesitated ,Shree convinced them to accept. Akhila stood silent and she was totally down.
Shree went inside the room and stood infront of Raghavendra swamy and her eyes filled with tears. He was smiling asusual. Shree had nothing to order or command him. She went to her bed.

And now I can hear you saying  "Chella ! You are making us sad and cry. When will be the happiest part in the story  come?". Not only you, Me too waiting to write the happy episode.
Suspense this time , The gist is Sai going to be disappointed for some reason. Will Shree get married to the IAS officer ?
I have only a word to say and It is "Patience"  not till Next Friday but the next next Friday. Lets always hope for the best.
