SHE'S ONE OF US - CHAPTER 18

Synopsis of last episode :

Shree and Sai continuously met in browsing center.  As Shree thought that there was risk involved in their meeting outside and  also browsing center was not a best place to meet, Sai decided to take her to his home on upcoming Saturday.



"Is this the street you live ?"


That was the Saturday , Shree had  a half -day college. She was so nervous about visiting Sai's home and meeting his Mom. Sai's father was in abroad and  he had an  elder sister. Everybody was living together as an extended family. Meeting her Man's Mom could be definitely a terrifying experience.  Sai was very much confident that his Mother would like Shree . He was very proud to introduce Shree to her and  was ready to show off . Sai informed his Mom that he had invited Shree on Saturday afternoon. It was not a big surprise to his Mom, as Sai told a couple of times about Shree to her. But his Mom didn't expect Shree would come home that early. She too was excited for Shree's visit as Sai told her that Shree was beautiful and smart.

College was over. Shree took her bicycle and hurried to a public telephone booth and called Sai. Sai said "Just wait for five minutes there , I am coming with my niece. She will come with you in your cycle and will guide you home. Don't worry she is just doing her Seventh Standard and she is very thin". Shree said "Okay ..." and disconnected the phone. After few minutes later , She saw Sai near the booth. His niece came towards her and greeted her. Shree smiled and asked her to sit behind her. The niece showed her the way. On the way they talked like friends. Shree asked "What's your name ?". She said "I am Geetha". Shree said "I am Shree". They were following Sai , But Sai suddely stopped in front of a shop. He did an eye signal to his niece to come near him. Shree stopped the cycle and Geetha went near Sai. He gave her a hundred rupee note and a fifty rupee note and asked her to give to Shree to buy "Horlicks" and some eatables from the shop. Shree don't like that as  it was like pretending. She was actually don't have any intention to buy those. But she thought Sai was doing such things purposely, May be his mother would take it wrong if Shree go empty handed. So , she followed his instructions. The home was getting near and near. She stopped the cycle when she entered a street . Geetha asked "What happened , We need to go to the end of the Street.". Shree's face changed slightly and said "Is this the street you live ? ". The street was very bad , it was yucky with improper drainage. Children looked different with dirty clothes roaming here and there. It was totally an unimaginable place that Sai could live. But she had no other option rather to enter the street. She tolerated the place and the smell. She arrived his home. She parked the cycle in front of his home and turned. There were pair of ten eyes watching her curiously as if they haven't seen such a good looking girl in that street for decades. The look was disgusting. She managed and headed towards the balcony.

                 

"You have a very short hair "



A big fat lady with dark complexion with small eyes was sitting in a wooden chair and saw Shree. The lady was awestruck on seeing Shree and didn't expect Shree would be that beautiful. She controlled herself and said "Come in". Shree understood that was Sai's Mother. There were no one in home other than his Mom and his niece. Shree smiled and they both went inside the living room. Shree gave her the bag of Horlicks and eatables which she bought as per Sai's instruction. Sai's Mom with a fake smile said "Oh ! No formalities" .Only her lips said that , but she checked the bag what was inside. The Mother  said "Horlicks?. It is little expensive". and the next question was "What's your father?". Shree looked at Sai and answered the question "He is a clerk in a company". The Mother said "He would not get much money in that job ..right ?". Shree kept mum and gave a fake smile.  Her heart said "Oh my god ! Where is our conversation heading to?". So she decided to change the topic. She said "Home is good ", even though she was not impressed of  anything there. The Mother smiled and said "Shree! We are not against love marriages , So ,....". Sai's Mom decided not to lose Shree as she thought she would not find a girl better than her. Shree understood that she accepted her and was happy. The mother continued "Actually Me and Sai's father had other plans for Sai and his brother. We wish our daughter in law from Kerala where the girls are beautiful and have long hair" and suddenly pulled Shree's hair as she was standing by her side. Shree was totally shocked by that action of her. The Mother continued "What is this ? But you have only little hair". Shree had neither too long nor  too short hair. She was always happy with her hair , but for the first time , She heard a person saying so,  that to her Man's Mother. Shree could not tolerate that at any cost. She was not willing to talk back as she was Sai's Mom , by the time Sai arrived to the living room. On seeing  him , She gave a sad look.  Sai was confused of her sadness.



                                                             

"My Parents had given a big property"



By the time , the next question was shot at her. It was "How much Gold will you bring from your home as dowry?". Shree thought it's going to be worse if she was ignoring this question. She want to give a very clear answer for this, as she thought it should not be a problem in future. Shree was dared to answer that question. Shree said  "My Parents had given a big property for me". Before she was done , The Mother raised her eyebrows  and said "What property? Where is the property? What is the value ?". Shree smiled and said "They have raised me with good behaviors and morals and they had given education even when they were in poverty which has immeasurable value". Sai's Mom gave a fake smile and was not happy with the answer, But Shree didn't mind about her unhappiness and She was happy that she answered the question in her own style. Sai's Mom gave a lethargic look at her and thought she was prideful. Sai left the place and was roaming inside the home. Actually even this act of Sai made Shree little upset. He was not staying near her and just help her to tackle the questions  his mother asks. At least he can control her activities and questions if he was near her.  She wondered of Sai's behavior in home and it wasn't Sai at all.  She was in his home for forty five minutes and could not be normal as she was in her college and home. She was pretending to smile for all the activities that happened, but really she don't want to. It was a big headache when we  lost us totally in something . First impression were made fast and it could be a ever  lasting impression too. The meet was a big clunker for Shree. She feared that she couldn't bear this forty five minutes and she was totally worried how she was going to deal with these people in her whole life time.




" I won't bring a single penny as Dowry"




She started from Sai's home and left the place. After she came out of the street , she took a big breath. The whole day , She was thinking of the time she was with Sai's Mom. She had lot of confusions. But she needed Sai very badly and she could not live without him. She decided to be good to his relatives whatever happens. She believed that things, people ,time  will not be the same always and also believed Sai's  Mom would understand her. Shree called Sai and asked to come to the browsing center as she need to discuss about the meet they had in his home. Both met at the browsing center. They sat inside and Shree started the conversation "What your mother told about me ?". Sai said "You were talking with her , She would have  told everything to you". Shree said "I know that , But I just need to hear from your mouth . You both would have definitely discussed about me". Sai said "She likes you, but she was worried about the dowry and your answer about the property". Shree was sad and had tears in her eyes and said in trembling voice " What am I supposed to answer for the dowry? but I answered her very politely. You know I won't be polite for such  actions". Sai said "Hey cool down. I explained her , But never mind if she keep on insisting the same , I will take care. She is a country lady. She can't think more than that and she thinks it is a great pride a daughter in law coming with lots of dowry". Shree said " Even if you had such ideas , Just forget it , I won't bring a single penny as dowry from my home. Not you , but we......... need to take care our life." . Sai said "Hey , I know that , a man should be ashamed to ask and get dowry from the girl's parents. It is my policy not to get dowry, So you don't worry Shree" and wiped her tears . Shree felt better  and said "I know she likes me , But I don't like anything happened that day".



I want to be with you and your family 



Shree said "She was pulling my hair, which was a great insult for me, But you never bothered and was roaming and escaped from the situation". Sai said "Hey , she would have just checked whether it is original " Shree shouted "Stop your stupid jokes. Is it funny and a easy thing pulling my hair ?. She should not have done that ?. How can you justify this action of her ? I never expected this from you".  Sai said "OH cool cool ....Sorry for the wrong timing joke, First you need to understand one thing , I already said you that she is a country lady , uneducated. Bare it for me". Shree kept her palms on her fore head and said politely "Instead of saying me to bare with her , Why can't you tell her not to do such things as it hurt my feelings , Please". Sai nodded and she continued  in a polite tone"You very well know that I don't want to lose my self esteem and self respect for our love. This is the very first meet , your mother is not bothered what I'll think of her , She has lot of pride as Indian Mom's think themselves if they were the mother of a boy.  I need to live  with you and your family in future. I was really worried how will be the other members of the  family. Sai said "Don't worry Shree , I won't let you alone with her in future. I completely understand your feelings". Shree smiled and said "Thanks , Are you angry that I said that I don't like the happenings  in your home?, I am so sorry to hurt your feelings too, but I have no option to discuss this to you .....Except You....". Sai looked deep into her eyes and said "You can discuss anything to me , No hesitation ...Okay ??". Shree naughtily smiled and said " Why can't you better  marry a beautiful girl from Kerala specially for the long hair as your mother said." and giggled. Sai laughed and said "What I'll do with that hair. ...Ohhhhh Mother ....Shree!! just ignore whatever she said". Shree smiled and said "Okay". 




Even I do a severe penance, I won't get  such a good man in my life.



Sai was silent and looked at her "So, What have you decided ?". Shree asked  "Decided??? what ?". Sai said "My mom hurt  your feelings , Did you still love me" . She naughtily  took a deep breath  and said "Whatever..., Love is blind. I am not worried about your mother's behavior , I am worried about the reaction of me for those. She is going to have a tough situation dealing with me.  You know my tolerating level to these actions are very low. But still I love her because she is your mom"  and twinkled.  Shree was ready to be a girl , which she was not,  as she loved Sai so much. Love is not attracting anymore. It was disgusting , But still Love don't change for anything and it has the power to control anything and everything. Even though Shree was not happy of  what happened in his home, She couldn't hate Sai for that , Love is blind  to faults and screw ups and even when she  do notice them , she quickly forgave because she believed her love can do no wrong. She took Sai's hands and said  "All people are not same in this world . But , I am so happy that I got you. Even , if I do severe  penance , I won't get a man like you in my life" and looked into his eyes and said "I love you". Sai naughtily said "Ditto ..........Oh my god I am losing my control. Can we leave this place?". Shree's heart forgot all her bitter experiences and jumped in happiness only thinking of Sai . Both bade bye to each other and left the place. Shree's heavy heart became light after she discussed everything with Sai.  Sai was happy that Shree understood everything and accepted him.  Shree was happy that Sai understood her in the right way and was supportive.


Shree decided to answer his Mom's disgusting questions in a polite manner in future , If Sai's Mom think that Shree had  a  bad attitude, and let her think and deal with her son. Shree don't want to deal with Sai about this anymore. She was adjusting and kept on visiting his home only for Sai. Every time she would be ended up in sadness  because of his Mom. Visiting his home , Insulting from his Mom , Disgusting actions ...everything continued. Sai's Mom really tested her patience to the core. People say "Keep smiling always". She followed that perfectly with his Mom. But smiling didn't give her peace of mind. Shree want to talk back and fight for her attitude , but she kept silent as she had the fear of losing her love.  But , she thought ,only one can make this situation better was Sai. 

One day , She visited Sai's home , there was a shock awaited for Shree, more than what she was experiencing now....


And I can hear you saying "Oh ....Suspense ".and I say " Every woman has self esteem and self respect. If an insult happens to her , her man should think as if it was happened to him. When a man understand this and tries to balance the situation without lame excuses, a girl's mind will be peaceful and she will trusts her man...Will Sai  give her peace and trust? Will Shree adjust to Sai's family members?  Wait and Watch ....for the shocking suspense as well. Meet you next Friday ..."

CIRCUS TIME- THE SHRINE CIRCUS

                     

Long Long ago , So long ago, I hardly remember the day I visited circus in my childhood.  A week before , I was checking Sanju's school bag and found a free pass inside. I was so happy and decided to go for the circus and told Sasi about that. Sasi booked two tickets for Sunday 3.00 Pm show. I was super excited to watch circus shows. I explained whatever I know about circus to Sanju and he too was excited.
It was Sunday morning , Sasi went to play cricket  and said that he will return at 12.00 pm. It will take 20 to 25 minutes to reach the down town where the circus was conducted in a big auditorium. It was 12.00 Pm , I got a call from Sasi saying that it will take time for him to reach home and he will come around 2.00 Pm. I was totally upset and disconnected the phone without uttering a word and I texted him to cancel the tickets. He also texted me to get ready and after he come home, he will get ready in 5 minutes and will start to the circus. My energy level went down, But still I made all the necessary  arrangements. We three got ready and waited for his arrival. It was 2.10 Pm , Sasi didn't arrive. Sanju lost his patience and kept on asking about Sasi's arrival. It was 2.20 , Sasi arrived. He parked the car in front of our home and he didn't switch off the engine and the car keys remained inside. I gave him food and hurried to the car with kids. I made them both sit in their car seats and made them to wear their seat belts and got them ready. In five minutes , Sasi came locking  the door with shoes and socks in his hands. A last ,we were all on board and started to the circus.

For five minutes ,there was silence. Even Shrinika and Sanjive didn't make any noise. After five minutes , they started  talking to each other. We headed towards the down town. In 20 minutes we reached  the place and parked the car. We need to walk long from the car parking to the auditorium. Me, in a disgusted tone said "Oh no ! I forgot the stroller for Shrinika". Sasi carried her all the way. We hurried to the entrance , we saw people coming disappointed with their empty strollers saying  that strollers were not allowed. I took a deep breath and said to myself "All is well" and went inside.
Lot of attracting stalls. Sanju and Shrinika refused to come inside seeing the stalls , but we somehow managed to get them inside the auditorium. We took our seats. We were on time , within 2 minutes , the show began. After 5 minutes Shrinika started screaming (Scream 1) in a high tone. The reason was the toy which the kid at the next seat was playing with. I just looked at Sasi, He took Shrinika and bought the same toy in the stall. And Now the fight started between siblings. We somehow consoled Sanju and made him watch the circus, but his eyes were on the toy. Shrinika's Scream 2 started. I asked "Now what ?". The reason now is the eatables. I took the Mini biscuits from my bag and gave her. She was silent for few minutes. She started jumping here and there and she got bored of the toy. Now Sanju was happy as he got the toy from Shrinika.

It was Scream 3 , Now the reason is another toy. You can definitely imagine how my face would be. I looked Sasi . He said "That's why I don't book tickets for films and shows". I really don't know what to do.  She started crying and I consoled her . There were N number of screams which I managed. I tried to deviate her every time with something. Meanwhile I was enjoying the shows as well . I was half mouth opened when I saw the circus people's performance. " Gymnastics !!! I really wonder the girls and boys performed  whose body was made of Rubber and Elastics instead of muscles and bones. What a timing sense. I was awestruck by their skills like flying in the air , Juggling with rings ,balls and clubs ,plate spinning ,Balancing on rolling objects, Unicycle , Elephant Dance, Tiger controlling, Multiple Hoola hoops, Riding bicycle and bike in a rope, The Rocket man blown from the rocket. We would have seen a man riding a bike inside a hollow metallic sphere, But there were three bikes riders  inside with a girl hanging in the middle and Lots and lots ..". My Physics brain  started working. Most of the performance were based on Physics Newton's law  particularly Newton's Third law "Every action has an equal and Opposite reaction". They were really a great treat to the eyes.



Half of the show was over and they allowed kids to ride in elephants , horses and camel and much more fun activities. Sasi and Sanju hurried to the ticket counter to get the tickets for the pony ride. It took a long time , By the time me and Shri were roaming inside the circus and took some  snaps.


     

  


When Sanju and Sasi came , Rides were all over, We heard an announcement saying after the next half of the show , the rides will be continued. Sanju started crying and we consoled him. As the crowd was too big , I told Sasi and Sanju "Once the Show got over , Hurry to the Pony Ride" and both nodded. Show was done , we hurried to the place , Luckily we were in the first batch of the ride. Both Sanju and Shri sat on different Pony , I accompanied Sanju and Sasi went along with Shrinika . It was really fun. Shrinika was totally clueless about what was happening. When we were riding , there came a stinking smell, Sanju closed his nose tight and it's because of Horse dung. In the last round , Shrinika's face changed and started crying , By that time , the ride was over. Me and Sanju ran out of  that place laughing and escaped from that yucky smell. We came out , reached the car and drove home safely.

I always learn something from what I see and hear. This circus made me understand an important thing that "Humans are wonderful creatures. They can do anything with practice"

Going to circus is a very simple thing , but why even simple things are complicated in my life :) . But  the happiest thing is I always enjoy whatever happens. ;)

SHE'S ONE OF US - CHAPTER 17

                                   

Synopsis of last episode

 Shree chose to write a letter to put a full stop for their love but caught red handed by her Mom. Sai left Shree's home permanently by leaving a promise to Shree's mom. Shree lost herself in darkness because of Sai's words. Shree's cycle got a major problem and she went with her friend Raji to the college for a week.  Shree and Sai met in the government hospital without her parent's knowledge. Raji showed the guy to Shree whom she thought suspicious.

Shree! I know your name and  My name is Krish!

After a week, Shree got her bicyle repaired. On the way to college, near the tennis court,  Shree fell down from the cycle as something on her way made her skid. She got a scratch in her elbow. There were two helping hands hurried towards her. The guy lifted her up and took the cycle and made necessary adjustments to the cycle. The guy asked "Are you okay? , Can we go to the hospital ?". Shree said "No ..Thanks. It is fine. I will take care".  Shree didn't notice who the guy was as she was seeing her cycle and her wounded hands. The guy suddenly over reacted and said "Why did you come in cycle. Where is your bike friend? ". Shree was shocked of the question and saw the man helped her. It was the suspicious guy. The moment Shree looked at him , He smiled at her and said "Remember me ? You look beautiful and What an eyes?  May I know your name ?". Shree was stunned and she took her bicycle and hurried to the college. The suspicious guy shouted "Hey, I know your name. Shree!! My name is Krish" . Shree was awestruck as he called by her name , but she didn't turn back. She parked the cycle and hurried to the B.Com First year class to meet Raji. But Raji's friends said that she was absent.

Is these roses are sent by Shree ?

The Next day, On the way to college, Raji decided to meet Krish. She parked her bike near the tennis court and searched him. Suddenly a voice behind her said "By any chance ,Are you searching me ?". Raji was shocked by the voice. She turned  and it was him . Raji said "Oh! Yes". Krish saw a small rose bouquet in her hand. He said "Nice roses". Raji smiled and said "I just paused here to meet you". Krish was so happy "Oh Is it ? Where is  your friend ?". Raji said " Friend ? Oh ....Her bicycle been in repair shop for a week , so she came with me". Krish said "What is your friend doing? Is she your class? Where is her home? Can u tell about her . Please". Raji got upset and asked him "Why are you asking about her all the time . Can't you ask about me?". Krish said "Actually I myself thought to meet you". Raji exclaimed  "Is it ?" and added "I brought these roses for you". Krish with excitement "Did these roses are sent by Shree?". Raji raised her eyebrows out of annoyance and said "Shree ?? Why should she send these flowers to you. Are you nuts ? . By the By ,How do you know her name ? Do you know what's my name". Krish said "Oh sorry, I forgot to ask your name?". Raji said " I am Raji . Okay ...... Now I will tell you frankly that ...".  Krish blinked. Raji continued "I fell in love with you and these roses are for you. But I'm totally upset that you are asking about Shree all the time". Krish said "Sorry Raji , You misunderstood me. I fell in love with Shree at first sight". Raji couldn't bear the pain , but she acted as if she took it  sportive. Raji said "Oh is it ? Sorry Yar . So ..........let us be friends". Krish too smiled and said "Yes. As a friend , Can you help me for my love ?". Raji's mind became blank but she nodded. On the way , She couldn't control her tears.

A Flashback - Krish

In the college, she was quiet and sad. She regretted helping Shree in picking and dropping her in home. She hated Shree because of Krish. In the break time , Shree hurried to Raji's class to meet her to tell about Krish. Raji said Shree "I am not in a mood to talk about anyone. Can you go please". Shree pleaded "It is very important. Can you come for a minute please". Raji exhaled deeply and came out of the class. Shree said "I want to tell you about the guy who comes to the tennis court. His name is Krish". Raji asked "Oh , You too know his name ?". Shree said "Hey ! He only told me. What does "You too" means, Did you meet him ?". Raji said "Leave that . You tell me first". Shree explained the happening on the road a day before. Shree added "I already told you and warned you about him , but you didn't listen me". Raji said "He seems to be good, But there are some confusions and It is because of you". Shree blinked and said "What did I ...do ?". Raji said "I should not let you in my bike". Shree was totally upset hearing Raji's words. Shree said "You are a fool, if you think so. Even you didn't take me in the bike , he is going to follow me and not you". Raji got very angry "What ?....'. Shree said "Cool down , There is one thing which I didn't tell you. Six months back , A guy came to my home to know about an address. I opened the door. It was Krish. He was taken back on seeing me and he whispered  complimenting my eyes. His activities were crazy". When you showed him at the tennis court, I completely understood he is seeing me and not you. I told you ,but you didn't believe me. There is nothing to get angry on me. Just think Raji" and left the place.

Krish's Love Message

The next day . Shree didn't show up. Krish was restless. It was been four days , Shree didn't arrive for the college. Krish was totally confused and he stopped Raji and asked her about Shree. Raji said "Sorry Krish , No idea". Krish begged her to tell what actually happened to her. Raji had a soft corner for Krish and  she said "She got affected by Viral fever and It is very severe". Krish was totally sad for that and said "Did she went to doctor?". Raji was very jealous of Krish's words and actions. She controlled herself and said "She would have gone to doctor . Why are you so much worried ?". Krish said "OH god! Can you do one favor for me ?". Raji exhaled deeply and said "Tell". Krish said  In the evening , I will be here and give you a parcel and a message. Just give it to her". Raji said "Are you crazy ? What if her parents ask?". Krish said "Say something, Please you have to do it for me". Raji closed her eyes and said "Okay ! Bye". In the evening , Krish gave a small closed bag and said "Please do not open it". Raji gave a fake smile and left the place. She reached Shree's home . Shree 's Mom said "Come in Raji.. Shree is in the bed room". Raji smiled and went inside the room. Shree smiled and said "What a surprise?". Raji said "Actually I was forced by someone to come here ?" and gave the bag and added "Don't ask any questions . Just open it and see". Shree opened the bag. There was a small flower bouquet stating "Get well soon" and a letter. She shrunk her eyebrows and looked puzzled at Raji. Shree was about to open her mouth . Raji said "Don't ask who send this bouquet and this letter to you.  You already  know that.  I just did the  job of a post man . That's it". Shree said "I don't want to read this letter . Just take it  away". But Raji was so curious about the letter and said I'll read if you don't mind. Shree lethargically said "I never mind". Raji read the letter loud , But Shree said "Lower your voice. Mom will hear you". Raji started reading the letter.

The letter said

"Lovable and beautiful Shree".

When I see you I become speechless and my heart skipped a beat. You took my breath away. All I ever needed , is in your eyes. Your father is a thief because he stole all the stars in the sky and put them in your eyes. There are no words that can describe how much I love you. I never knew what love was until I met you.  I sent an angel to look over you at night. The angel came back a minute later and I asked it Why? . It told me "Angels don't watch other Angels".  Did it hurt? , when God removed your wings and sent you down to earth. I love you so much . I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Life without you , isn't life at all.  Will you marry me ?.
I know about  you and your family. I will wait till your sister get married. I'll take care of  you and your (our) family. I just want to say about me too . I did all my studies in Mumbai and looking after my father's business here. He was the famous and one of the great Industrialist (Mr Viswanath) in this town. I already told about you to my parents. Many girls proposed to me , But I like only you. I am confident that you will like me and love me. I am curious to know your positive reply.

Note : Don't come in cycle. My heart really aches, when I see you coming in cycle. If you want , I will arrange a car for the college or I'll ask Raji to take you in her  bike safely.

Nobody is Great  for me except Sai

Raji exhaled deeply out of disappointment. She said "I missed this man. God is so mean. How caring ? How expressive ?  How matured? How handsome ? What a love ?. Oh my Gosh ! He is the only son of great Industrialist Mr Viswanath, I couldn't believe. So what is your positive answer ?" and giggled. Shree starred and said "Are you nuts ? I am already in love with Sai , How can you ask this question?". Raji said "Shree ... Think deeply. You will get a wonderful life , if you marry him". Shree stood and said  "Please leave this place. I thought you were my friend ". Raji said "Hey. I love Krish , But still I say this to you as I think he is too good". Shree said "He may be good. I appreciate that, But never ever compare him with Sai.". Raji said "But .. he is damn handsome , how can you be like this?". Shree said politely "Handsome ? If something is beautiful , We can just keep it in the show case and it won't be useful in life. It is not the only reason , we fall in love with the person. If you say he is rich, I'm so sorry , please change your attitude. We can earn money anytime . Nobody is great for me except Sai . Got it ?". Raji kept looking at Shree deeply and said "Okay. Will I tell him what you said?" Shree nodded and added "Take this bouquet and the letter and tell him not to follow me wherever I go". Raji shook her head and said "God is definitely so mean. I am longing for him , But he is longing for you. But you are longing for Sai. The only best part is , at least Sai is also longing for you". Shree smiled and said "Will you stop this and Never ever talk about this to me in future". Raji said "Okay , Bye" and left the place.


Sai - Is he damn handsome and richer than me ?


Next day,  Raji said everything to Krish. Krish was totally upset and he thought she was the first girl to reject him. His upset made him so angry on Shree. Krish said Raji  "Do you know about the person whom she fell in love with? ". Raji said "I just know his name "Sai"." Krish hated the name and he looked at Raji and said "Do one  more favor. Just take this mobile phone to Shree's home and I need to talk to her for a minute". Raji was scared "Hey No , I am afraid.". Krish begged Raji and  finally she accepted. In the evening , She went to Shree's home. Mom had gone to meet a person at  next door. Raji was relaxed and went inside the room. Shree said "Come Raji , Now what ? Don't say that you brought a message from him". Raji explained and showed the mobile phone. Shree shouted "Are you crazy . How can you get his phone ?".  Raji said "He finally need to talk to you.". Shree said "NO". But Raji compelled her and said "After this , he won't disturb you". Shree exhaled deeply and said "Okay". By the time the  phone rang with a ringtone "I......... love .............................you". Shree said "sssshhhhhhh. Couldn't tolerate this nonsense". Shree attended the call. Krish at the other end said "Shree ! How are you?  Are you better now ? I am so sad that you sent my bouquet and letter back".

Shree said "Can you just stop. I know Raji told you everything about me? So now why are you calling me. Can't you understand that you are  disturbing me". Krish said "Shree , I know that , but what is his name ? Ahhh ..Sai . I am just curious to know if  Sai is handsome than me? Is he richer than me ?". Shree shouted "Bull shit ! Will you stop it. This is your attitude. So you thought Shree would fell under your feet for your money and beauty. Don't ever compare you with my Sai. Beauty isn't in face. It is something felt by our heart. I think you never understand. It is a waste of time explaining these to you". Krish said "Okay Okay . You got me wrong. I want to see him , I mean your lover boy". Shree said "Just get out of my life . It's none of your business" and disconnected the phone. Raji said "Why are you so arrogant ? Can't you say it polite?". Shree starred her in red eyes and said "If you are coming  again with these issues to me . You are toast". Raji was stunned  of Shree as she never saw Shree speaking like this to anyone.

Next whole week, Shree didn't see Krish. She was happy that he made up his mind. The next day Shree saw him. Krish looked her and turned his face and pretended as if he didn't see her. Shree smiled to herself  and headed towards the college. Even though Krish was unhappy , he understood Money and Beauty won't get us what we want in life . There is something we can't buy with money. He realized , but after all he is just a  human filled with full of anger on Shree and jealous on Sai. He prayed to God that Shree and Sai should not lead a happy life and they should broke up. However he decided to move on with his life.

                     
                         

The Romantic Tilak

That was a special day , Shree's parents wedding anniversary. Sai arrived Shree's home. He got lot of hesitation to come inside, but still he made up his mind to wish and get blessings from them. But unfortunately , they were not in home. But luckily Shree was in the home . She was stunned to see Sai. She nervously asked "Hey , Why did you come here?". Sai smiled and said "I know today is Amma Appa 's wedding anniversary . Just came here to get their blessings?". Shree said "Hey , If they see you here , they will mistake me and they will curse you instead of blessing you . Please leave right now ". Sai said "Okay. Okay. Don't worry . I will go and before that .....". Shree blinked "What ?...". Sai smiled naughtily and said  "I have a desire?". Shree starred at him "What ? Desire? ...We will talk about that later. I said to leave. Please". Sai suddenly lifted Shree and cradled her in his arms. Shree  screamed in a low tone and said "Hey no... leave me down. What are you doing? ....". He left her down and said  "Hey , you are too light like a breeze". Shree smiled and said "How dare you come into my home and do like this ? You are such a bad .....". Sai smiled and said "Bad ....?.". Shree chuckled and said "Bad Sai".  Sai just turned to the Pooja room and it seemed to be a special pooja done that morning by Shree's Mom. Sai hurried to the Pooja room and took the Kumkum (a powder made of red turmeric which Hindus wore on their forehead.). If a man kept kumkum Tilak on a girls' forehead,  it signifies that he had won her as his wife. With a blink of an eye, Sai kept tilak on her forehead and said "You are always Mine" . Shree never expected this action of Sai and looked into his eyes. Sai realized that she was too shocked by his action and gently tapped on her cheeks and  bade bye to her. Shree was dumb struck and the words were caught in her throat. The whole night, she was thinking of Sai and his tilak. From next day , She never forget to wear tilak on her forehead because whenever she had it on her  forehead , she felt Sai's presence around her.

Are you serious ? Can you do that ?

That was a Tuesday , Shree called Sai , He told Shree to meet him in a browsing centre on the upcoming Saturday in the town after college. Shree said "Yes , Definitely. I have lot to say and share with you". Days went by. Shree and Sai continuously met in the browsing center each Saturday. Shree was always afraid that someone would notice them and create an issue. Shree nervously told "I don't like us meeting in this browsing center. If someone sees us here and complains to my parents or in college . My life would be at stake. You know that my college is very strict . They even give a Transfer certificate  for these kind of acts" . Sai said "I couldn't find any other place safer than this?  If at all I should take you to my home". Shree exclaimed in delight "Can you do that ? Are you serious? Can you introduce me to your Mom and family ?". Sai smiled and said "Yes". Shree asked "When ?". Sai said "Next Saturday". Shree nodded and  left the browsing center. Sai after five minutes came out and paid the browsing center for an hour and left the place.


And I know you are very eager as same as Shree to meet Sai's Family. Will that a happy meet or mere a night mare for Shree ?. All I say is Just bare with me till next Friday  ;)

Bunch of Sorrys

Shree was taken back by the words written in that bunch of papers. She held tight the bunch of papers and  said to the students "Excuse me, I will come in a minute". She hurried down stairs and turned over the pages. She wondered that how serious Sai concerned about her anger. At the same time she was proud that her upset was not a easy thing to him. The paper looked like an imposition. She closed her eyes out of unhappiness. She felt bad about herself seeing the bunch of papers again and again. She couldn't believe her eyes.  Sai had written "SORRY" in that bunch of papers. There were four thousands "Sorry s". Shree thought "Even looking at that bunch of papers was tired , How come Sai did that, Oh my Gosh! I was just pretending to be annoyed ".  Sometimes we get happy and sad for a same thing. Likewise Shree was unhappy  and thought "OH no.... , How his hands would hurt". Tears rolled down. The next moment , Sai's crazy blind love made her smile. She smiled through her tears.  There was a pain in her heart knowing that Sai had struggled . But when she realized it was out of his beautiful love, There was an immeasurable joy. Whatever,  She decided not to accept this . Shree don't want Sai to struggle even for petty things. The crazy part of love is , we do things outside of our comfort zone, even though those things may be inconvenience to us , but  we are always happy and excited to do them.  That night , Shree was deeply thinking Sai and his bunch of papers. She was much worried as their love  for each other went deep into their soul. She just came out from her love world , her family got into her mind. Already Shree's mom started doubting her activities, So she decided to sacrifice her love and also request Sai to do the same. She chose to write a letter to put a full stop for their love. 

Shree's letter to cut the shrub down

It was Saturday morning, Shree finished her tuition and came downstairs. She took  her college book and kept a paper on top of it. She wrote the letter and was about to fold. Suddenly a hand pulled the paper. She was shocked. Her head started spinning. She couldn't believe , it was her Mom. Her Mom starred at her . She read the letter and shouted turning to her Dad "I told you already that she's doing something without our knowledge, But when I told , You didn't believe me,  See .... Now what? ". Mom erupted like a volcano. Akhila stood silent starring at Shree without uttering a word. Mom turned to Shree and shouted "We pampered you so much , and You are punishing  us for that , How dare you do this and spoil our family name". Shree was dumb struck. She felt like drowning  in a pond.  She don't want to deny anything as she caught red handed. Her dad got the letter and read it. 

In the letter .... 

"Dear Sai , This letter is not for happiness.  I know you are so deep in your love and so do I . Our love been sowed and it is grown into a small shrub now. I don't want that to grow into a tree, because it is very difficult to cut it down. The pain we can't bare.  Love made me blind and crazy. I am supposed to consider my family first. So, Now ....Thinking of my family , I choose to cut the shrub down. I am writing this with heavy heart and tears in my eyes. I am afraid of the "Trust" my Family have on me. I am afraid of the "Love" they have on me. I am afraid of the "Hope" they have on me. After all I am afraid of my family's dignity. I am also worried about Akhila's life would be at stake if we do this. I am so Sorry.......................Forgive me. 

There is a complaint about you.

Shree's dad gently tapped on Shree's  shoulders and turned to her Mom and said in a cool tone "The letter is perfect. Shree has written it correctly". Mom shouted "What ?....". Dad said "Do not shout. It is very natural to fall in love at this age, but she decide to cut it off. She is getting into a right direction. Don't scold her or hurt her". Mom angrily said "Nothing to blame her. I'll talk to Sai . He is the one cheated us". Shree wept and wept. Her face turned pale and eyes were red. She was now bothered about Sai . Shree who always expected Sai to come daily , prayed that he should not come that day. Shree heard Sai's bike. Shree was too upset and closed her eyes with her palms as her eyes ached to see Sai in that situation. Sai came smiling without knowing the consequences he was going to face. 

The entire home was like a graveyard. Nobody said a Hello to Sai or even a smile. Shree's Dad was sitting in a chair reading a newspaper and Mom sitting beside him. Akhila  sat in front of them with gloomy face mixed with anger. Sai could feel something was terribly wrong. He turned his head towards the room , where he saw Shree with tears. He could see a swollen face of Shree because of continuous crying. He guessed what  had actually happened and he made up his mind to face this tough situation. Shree's Dad broke the silence and said  with a fake smile " Sai! There is a complaint about you". The moment Sai was about to open his mouth, but before that , Shree's mom started blasting . She said with tears out of anger and hatred "You betrayed us, This is your real face and with such a dirty mind you helped us. How can you do this? , I thought you were my son" . Sai broke into tears and said "I may be wrong , but Amma , Don't ever say that. Nothing can change that I am your son. Now I want to make you clear that me and Shree love each other and I want to marry her with your acceptance. I very well know we are not of same community , but we ...." and looked at Shree. 

"I Promise" - Shree 's heart stopped pumping

Shree sat idle sobbing with her glance fixed on Sai. Mom said  "Shut up and get out of this house right now". Akhila consoled her Mom and turned to Sai and said "Please Go". Sai turned to her Dad and said "Appa , Please understand. I didn't plan anything. Everything happened in its own way". Mom again shouted "Don't create any scene. There is nothing between you and our family. Mind your business and get out". Sai pleaded with tears "No , I can't leave her". Mom blasted "How dare you can say this . Okay if this is your thought , I will tell you mine. We are going to stop Shree from her college and send to her Uncle's home in Coimbatore and her uncle knows very well how to handle this". Sai cried "No Amma .. But her studies.???". Mom said "Let it be , because of you , her whole future getting spoiled . That's completely fine,  as our family dignity is much important to us". Sai said "No ... You can't do this to Shree" and took a deep breath. There was a silence for few seconds. He said "Okay .  I will forget her and won't come here again". Mom got relaxed and said "Words are not enough , you have to promise". Sai turned to Shree and looked her with painful eyes. Shree's vision blurred out of tears. Shree don't want Sai to promise and thought it was equal to kill her. She shook her head slightly. Though Sai understood  what she was thinking, and could feel her pain in her heart through her eyes. He turned to Shree's mom and said "I promise" and hurried from the place without turning back. 

You can change Sai , But not me.

Shree's heart bursted into pieces. She couldn't believe Sai uttered those words. She only heard the voice of Sai "I promise" all the time. She totally lost her in darkness, She couldn't sleep and she stopped having food. The Family consoled her , but she was not convinced. Two days she didn't have her food. Mom threatened her that the whole family won't have their food until she eat. So , she pretended having little food. Mom scolded her . Shree got mad and shouted "Yes , I love him , You can change Sai , but not me. I am going to be like this in my rest of my life" and wept.  Mom got mad on her  but her Dad said "Leave her alone , Don't compel her for anything . She will be alright soon by herself".  Akhila cried to Mom "Amma ! Everything happened because of me and I am the one who is responsible for all thing happened. I need to be blamed as I brought Sai into this home and not anyone else". Mom said "No dear , It's not you " and looked at Shree in a way that she was responsible for everything. Shree stood silent. She forgot to eat , drink, play, study, smile , listen , feel, see.  She was in a separate world. All she can hear only those words which Sai said "I promise". She can't accept Sai getting out of her life. She kept on weeping day and night. Shree's Mom was much worried as Shree became thinner day by day. It was almost ten days Shree being like this. She decided to call Sai on the way to college and home , but she would change her mind as Sai uttered those words. She thought  that, " To keep up his promise , Sai didn't turn up. He decided to forget the love".  But her inner voice said  Sai would come back as she believed , her love was true. Her eyes searched him on the way to the college and home. But Sai didn't turn up, however she didn't lose her hope. 

The Meet in Government Hospital

It  was the eleventh day, Shree's bicycle got punctured. So , she left the bicycle in the puncture shop and walked to the bus stop. When she was about to get inside the bus. A voice stopped her. She turned and it was her Table tennis friend Raji, First year B.com with her two wheeler . She said "Shree! If you want , you can join me in my bike". Shree smiled and said "Yes". Raji said "Where is your bicycle?". Shree explained everything  to her. Raji said "It is fine. you can join me in the evening too". Shree said "Okay". Raji showed her parking place and said " Whomever comes early can wait for the other here " . Shree nodded and said "Thanks".  Raji smiled and said "Don't mention it". In the evening , After college Shree waited for her in the parking. Raji waived her hands from distance. Shree too waived back. Raji said " Are you waiting long ?". Shree smiled "No problem , It was just two minutes". On the way , Raji was talking something to her. But Shree's eyes were searching Sai. Suddenly Shree started to weep. Her eye caught sight of Sai  but he disappeared. She was searching but he was right beside her. Raji was clueless and she stopped her vehicle. Raji said "Is something wrong?". Raji saw Sai was parking his vehicle beside her. Raji asked Shree "Hey do you know him ?". Shree nodded. Raji completely understood the situation and said Sai "This is not right place to talk, After half a mile , there is a government hospital , If we go inside no one will find us talking. It is a safe place". Sai nodded and both vehicles headed towards the Government hospital. Raji left Shree at the entrance and said "I will wait here , You go and come in five minutes. Okay?". Shree said "Yes". 

                                                         

 

I can easily carry you and run away

Shree stood under a big tree inside the hospital.  Sai parked the vehicle and came near Shree. Shree wanted to hug him tight and weep , but couldn't. She explained her sufferings of last ten days. Tears popped out of Sai's eyes , but he controlled himself as Shree was already weeping and  his tears shouldn't make her even worse. He said "I can't even wipe your tears. Everyone in the hospital seems like watching us. Wipe your tears". Shree said "But , How can you promise". Sai said "I said just "I promise" not anything else. That's why I hurried home after saying that. If i would have stayed Amma would definitely made be say in detail". Shree said "What ?....It means ???". Sai said "It means "I promised not to leave Shree even in death " and smiled. Shree naughtily smiled and said "How dare you can cheat my family again. Cheater. Count your sins ". Sai playfully said "All sins are deposited in your account as everything I do it for you". Shree laughed and said "You.............". The two heavy hearts became light. They were happy with each other. Sai advised "Please have your food. My heart really aches when I heard that you didn't have your food and you became so thin." and added "But there is an advantage I can easily carry you and run away". Shree starred "What ???". Sai said "I was just kidding". Shree said "No.. Don't say that ever,  not even for fun. Why we should run?. We both have families. I have lot of aims and dreams and you too. I love you a lot but..  ". Raji interrupted "It is already ten minutes. But I heard the last words of you. We need to lose something to get something right ?". Shree said "Who said so? If that is the case, Whenever a child is born , are we losing it's Mama?. My thinking is I need to be honest , loyal in my love and also should achieve my aim and dream and So do Sai. Now Amma and Appa may think I betrayed them , But one day they will definitely realize that Sai is the best match for me  and so do I for him". Raji smiled and said "Crystal clear. You are awesome Shree. That's how every girl should think". Shree said "Hmm.. " and looked at Sai and added "I am happy now , I can concentrate in my studies. Now I promise I never leave you again for any reason, If so that will be my final day. Got it ?". Sai  said "Yes ... Dittto" and twinkled . Shree added "Stupid Where did you go these ten days" . Sai said "There was a close relative's death in my native place. So I went there and Moreover I had some issues in the college and need to address it" . Shree said "No Excuses like this in future" and smiled.  Sai said "Call me every Tuesday when you are on the way home" Shree said "Yes." She wanted to talk more , but it got already late. Both of them left the place. Shree turned and saw Sai going in the opposite direction. She couldn't take her eyes off from Sai till he disappear. He thanked her Raghavendra swamy. 

 The Suspicious Guy

On the way , two eyes watched the girls in the bike and impressed with a girl . One side love at first sight. Shree's cycle got a major problem and she could not take her cycle to the college for a week, So Raji picked her  for the college  and dropped her in home . The two eyes noticed the timing of the bike arrival and he showed up daily morning and evening. Raji too fell in love with that boy at first sight. He was smart . He got a handsome look. His style , his attitude revealed that he belongs to a very rich family. He always would come to the tennis court which was on the way to the Women's college. That Day , Raji said "Do you noticed that handsome guy who is coming daily looks at me?". Shree blinked "OH .. Sorry , I didn't notice". Raji said "Oh my God , He is damn cute. I like him so much . I want to talk to him and introduce myself one day". Shree said "Are you crazy ? You don't know who is he. How come ? No Raji , It's dangerous". Raji said "Okay , I will show you today". Shree gave a blank look and a deep exhalation. On the way Raji said "Shree ! Watch out , He is the one standing near the Tennis court entrance with grey shirt on him . Oh my god ! Grey looks great on him". The guy too watched the bike passing the tennis court. Raji said "Hey Look  , He is looking me". Shree said "What ??" and looked back and saw him. The guy smiled at Shree as if he knows her before. He was extremely happy when Shree saw him. Shree said "Your hero is smiling at me and you say he is looking at you. I think he is not good". Raji consoled Shree and said "Hey , he just smiled at you because you are my friend". Shree don't like that guy even though he was damn handsome and felt something suspicious about him. 

And now I can hear you saying "Who was this suspicious guy , Was  he really suspicious or it was just Shree's thought  about him? Is he any way related to Shree's life ? " I say "Patience Patience Friday is not too far :) "
