SHE'S ONE OF US - CHAPTER 23

Synopsis

Sai got a job in Banglore in a software company.  Sai's separation made Shree unhappy , but she consoled herself that this was just a temporary situation. Sai seek Kalpana's help . his cousin,  to handover a book to Shree. Shree came to know Kalpana was a gossiping queen. Kalpana was jealous of Shree and came to know about  their love. She spread the news in the college. Akhila got a job in Chennai as a lecturer in a leading engineering college and went to the city. Shree missed Akhila so much. In the college , the HOD called Shree and asked about her love affair which was a great shock for her and also asked her to promise on Lord Ganesha that she didn't have any love affair.

Come on .. Repeat whatever I say

For a second , Shree was out of her mind. Her mind said "Come on , do something, You have no time . You can no way lose your studies for your love". The HOD said "Your parents believe you very much and I know you always remember that and I ask you to promise for their sake ,  not for me. Okay come on repeat whatever I say.. I promise on Lord Ganesha that I don't have any love affair". Shree looked down and said  "I understand Madam , I will never go in a wrong way in my life. I need you to just believe me". The HOD noticed tears running on her cheeks. Shree looked down the earth and tears continued to pour down. The HOD said "Shree! I thought you are a bold girl! Why are you crying?". There is no words from Shree. The HOD got up from her seat and touched Shree's shoulders. Shree fell on the ground collapsed and HOD was shocked. The HOD hurried to the staff room and saw Priya and Mona standing in the staff room. She commanded them to take some water to the physics lab. HOD said "Shree is not well. I think she didn't have her breakfast. Suddenly she collapsed. You both better hurry to the lab and splash water on her face. I will be right back".

What about the promise ?

 Mona and Priya hurried to the place. Priya was so tensed and started shouting in anxiety "Shree! What happened to you?". Mona was about to splash water on Shree's face. Shree naughtily opened one of her eyes and jumped. Mona and Priya were puzzled. She hurried and popped her head outside the door and asked "Where is HOD ?". Mona asked puzzled "What happened ? I really don't understand. She sent us here saying that you were collapsed. But you are not ......" and blinked. Priya said "Hey Shree , Are you out of your mind?". Shree again popped her head  and saw HOD coming towards the lab. She hurried and snatched the water bottle from Mona's hand. Shree splashed the water on her face and pretended as if she woke up from giddiness. By the time HOD arrived.
The HOD said "OH Thank God! You got up . Come on drink this lemonade. I usually bring this for me to drink after my lunch". Shree hesitated "No , Madam. Water is enough". HOD compelled her to drink the lemonade. HOD said "Mona and Priya make her drink this lemonade and take her to the Lab 2 and make her take rest till she feels good". Mona and Priya nodded. The HOD stepped outside. Shree called "Madam ! What about the promise?". When she talked to the HOD, she pretended as if she had a sensation of whirling and tendency to fall.  She said "I (don't - in a mumbled way) promise on Lord Ganesha that I don't have a love affair".

I want to smash on her face

 HOD thought she promised and said  tapping her shoulders "I know you . Take care. By the By , You have been selected as "The Best Outgoing student of the college". You will receive the award in our College annual day which is going to be conducted after 2 months. I need to talk to you regarding that. After you are okay, just come and meet me". Shree smiled and said "Yes ....Thank you Madam" and looked her in a pathetic way.  Once the HOD left , Priya and Mona made sure that HOD went to the staff room and  exclaimed "Shree , Oh my gosh! What an acting ? The real actors and actress need to beg from you". Shree starred at them and said "I didn't act for fun. This is serious". Shree said everything to them.  Shree said in an anxiety "I really feeling very bad for making HOD , a fool. I had no choice. All this is because of Kalpana. I really want to smash on her face. How ridiculous? I will go to her class in the break and talk to her" Mona said "No, Shree. That's not a good idea. Just leave this as  such and ignore her" Shree thought for a while and calmed down.


                     

Are you guilty ?

It was lunch time , Shree hurried down to the College temple and prayed for a moment. She started going around the temple  till her legs suffered a cramp. The whole lunch time , she was walking around the temple vigorously. She heard the bell rang. She stopped walking and said seeing the Lord Ganesha  "I didn't promise on you, but I lied to my teacher. You made me to do that. To me , I didn't do anything wrong. You are the one who made mistake by creating creatures like Kalpana. I always want to be honest , but she made me to pretend. I had no choice rather to tell a lie and act". Shree saw Priya and Mona coming towards her. Priya said "Are you guilty for your lie to HOD?". Mona's eyes too asked the same question. Shree smiled and confidently said "No, I don't. "Even falsehood has the nature of truth , if it confer a benefit that is free from fault- This is said by Thiruvalluvar in Thirukkural. It means, For good things to happen, we can tell a lie in the place of truth. Moreover I need to keep up the promise which I made to Mrs Sailakshmi. Come lets go to the class"". Priya and Mona looked at Shree with pride and held her hands with a firm grip and walked to the class.

You are my naughty Bestie.

Once entered the class, Priya shouted "Girls! Here is an announcement. Our class is going to be so proud , that one of our friend is going to be awarded the "Best outgoing student". It is  none other than our Shree. Mona hugged Shree and said "Congrats!". Everyone in the class congratulated her. Suddenly Priya whirled and fell down. Everybody was shocked and became nervous. Shree took a water bottle and pour the whole water bottle on her. Priya jumped shouting "How dare you pour the whole water bottle on me. You stupid girl". By the time Shree escaped from Priya without getting caught. Mona took two more water bottle and ran behind Priya shouting "Priya !! Get the bottle from me. Once she get caught, we are pouring the two whole bottle on her ". Priya reached near and splashed the water on her. Mona too reached and splish-splashed on her. Three of them laughed till their stomach ached. Shree said "Oh my god , It's very urgent to use the rest room" and ran to the restroom. Mona and Priya followed her. After they came out , Priya smiled and asked "Shree, When I collapsed , everyone was so shocked and believed me, But how did you find that I was pretending?". Shree said "You want to know ?". Priya looked curiously and expected an answer.  Shree naughtily smiled and said "The person involved in similar activities know each other better than others do" and twinkled. Priya put her hands  tight around Shree's shoulders and said "You are my naughty bestie". Shree too put her hands on Priya and Mona too joined them.

 I have a desire. Will you fulfill it ?

The next day , the HOD called Shree again. Priya playfully  said "Don't worry Shree , You go first. Me and Mona will follow  you with a bottle of water" and giggled. Shree smiled and went to the staff room. Shree went to the HOD room and said "May I come in ?". The HOD said "Yes , Come in. Shree ! Just wait a minute". Shree waited. The HOD playfully said "I have a desire. Will you fulfill it?". Shree wondered HOD talking like this to her. Shree smiled and said "Yes Madam , Of course". The HOD said "I know , You are a national level dancer in your school. Could you be able to give a Bharathnatyam (classical dance of Tamil nadu) performance in our college annual day?". Shree was shocked and now her head really rotated. Shree asked "A.... What?". The HOD said "Why do I need to ask you. I am commanding you . You are performing". Priya found a reason to enter the staff room and saw Shree standing before HOD.  Priya twinkled and showed a small water bottle in her hands. Shree chuckled and made gestures to get out. The HOD continued "So , When are you going to practice. I am really curious to see you dancing and you have a face which very well suits for the classical dance. I already spoke to a girl in II year and Mina who are also joining you in the dance. It is the welcoming and opening dance". Shree hesitatingly said Madam ....But .. I know to dance , but not the classical one. Without learning , I can't do it and we can't just perform the classical dance like other dances. It can't be practiced in a month or two . I am sorry , I can't"". The HOD strictly said "You can do it. You are doing it. I talked to the II year girl . She is learning classical dance for five years and she will take you to her teacher who will coach you". Shree exhaled deeply and nodded in half mind.


                       

     

I know it is in my blood , I just need to kindle it.

That evening , The II year girl took her to the classical dance class. The teacher gave her four steps and gestures and asked her to do. Shree did the steps and gestures in a funny way. The teacher laughed and said to the II year girl "Is your HOD got mad to train her for the welcoming dance. I think your HOD don't know the value of classical dance which cannot be performed without learning from the beginning lessons". Shree shrunk her eyes and  heard everything. Though there was a truth in the teacher's words, Shree don't like the way she told. She didn't talk back. She came out of the class and asked the II year girl "Is your coach very close to you.?". The girl said "Ya , I like her so much". Shree said "So , whatever I tell you , just convey her. I don't like the way she talked to me. She literally mocked at me which i disliked to the core. She may be a classical dance teacher , I respect that. But you should not underestimate others. I am a national winner in Kavadi dance(Folk dance of TN ) in my school days. Till this minute , I am not interested to perform the classical dance. But ,Now I decided , I am doing this. As my sister too is a classical dance teacher, I'll seek her help and learn it. I know it is in my blood. Just need to kindle it"  and left the place. The girl thought Shree was too pride and talking like this won't help to learn classical dance.

My Shree !

Akhila arrived  home for semester holidays. Shree learnt few steps from  her and started practicing with full determination. She put her whole effort in the dance. In the evening , they discussed the steps and kept on practicing the steps in her home. She too watched some videos of great classical dancers and got beautiful ideas how to do that. The rehearsal day arrived. Shree ,Minu and the 2nd year girl were called to perform. During performing every one including the HOD fixed their eyes on Shree. While dancing , Shree noticed a staff whispering something to HOD. Followed by her , all the staffs said something to the HOD. The Hod's face glittered in pride. Once they are done with the performance the HOD hugged Shree and said "You danced like a professional dancer. Every body was surprised and asked me whether you will dance classical and how long you were learning .You know what I said to them? " Shree blinked. The HOD continued " My Shree is a born dancer and her sister is a classical dance teacher" and she continued "I am so proud of you". Shree was awestruck and was so happy for HOD saying "My Shree".

I' M POSSIBLE

The II year girl was fuming inside and was irritated. The girl too was shocked how come Shree performed so well.  Shree understood the girl by her face and said to her "Sometimes I won't be interested in few things , but once I am into it, I will fully dedicate myself for it and no doubt I will be best at it. Nothing is impossible in this world. The word impossible itself says I'm possible. Just tell this to your teacher and if possible ask her to come to our college annual day". The II year girl hated Shree to the core and said "Okay .." And continued "Regarding costumes , I have mine and I won't help you getting yours. you need to arrange for yours". Minu understood her motive and said to Shree "We can get classical dance costume anywhere. Do not worry .  I will help you".  The II year girl gave a fake smile and left the place. Minu and Shree collected their costumes and jewelry for the dance. The college annual day arrived.

And now I can hear you saying "What suspense this time ? " And I say "There going to be a lot of appreciation and praises for Shree from everyone including HOD . At the same time a shocking thing is going to happen like an evil eye on her. Wait and watch this space on next Friday :)

SHE'S ONE OF US - CHAPTER 22

                        

   


Synopsis :

Shree lost her bicycle. She was so upset and couldn't stop thinking about her bicycle. She went to  her college in a Mini Bus. There she met an old man Gnyanam. Through him , she learnt what is life. From then, She stopped worrying about her bicycle.

It is a shock and not a surprise.

That was Tuesday , the day Shree usually calls Sai. She went to the public booth and dialed Sai's number, Sai picked the call and said "Shree ! I was waiting for your call". I need to discuss an important thing to you. Can we meet tomorrow evening ?". Shree said "Important ? About what ? I am curious". Sai said "I will tell you tomorrow , not in phone ". Shree said "Please , Please give me some clues". Sai said "It is about our future". The answer made her still more curious. Sai said "Bye , Meet you tomorrow in browsing Center". Shree said "Yes, I will be there at 4.45 pm" and disconnected the phone. Next day Shree went to the browsing center and waited for Sai. Sai arrived and Shree hurried asking "What is the matter?  It is getting late. I need to go home. Can you hurry up Please". Sai opened a small carton. Shree said "Oh what is this?". Sai opened the carton and Shree found delicious Halwa in it. Shree smiled and asked "What special ?". Sai said "First , you take one". Shree took a piece and had a half bite. Sai pulled the other half from her hand and put in his mouth. Shree smiled and said "What is this for ?". Sai said "I got a job in Bangalore in a software company. I am just expecting an entry. I applied three months back and I informed my college as well". Shree said in a sad tone "So , I am the last one to be informed. Right ?". Sai swallowed and said "No , Not like that, I thought it would be a surprise". Shree looked somewhere and said "It is a shock and not a surprise". 

One day I will give you back in double

Though she was happy inside that Sai got a job , she couldn't take it easy as she was going to miss him so badly. Sai understood that Shree was unhappy as he been going  to a place which is far. Sai convinced Shree and said "If you show this kind of face , How will I do my job there ? I am starting this week end  as they need me immediately". Shree felt like crying , but she controlled her tears as it should not bother Sai. Sai said "Don't worry , I will come once in a month and you can call me any time. Fourth semester exams been arriving.  Do well". Shree nodded her head. Sai said "Talk something". Shree looked him  deeply and said "All the best. Take care of your health. Avoid eating outside". and continued " Whom you are staying with? ". Sai said " I am residing with my friends. Don't worry , I will be fine". Sai discussed about his joining company, designation and his salary. Shree heard everything and said "I am leaving . It is already late". When Shree was about to leave , Sai pulled her hands and made her stay. Shree said "What?". Sai said "So......... we are going to meet only next month ?  Till then I need something for remembrance so that I won't miss you much". Shree took his hands and kissed  his palm. Sai in reciprocation took her hands and tried to kiss , but Shree pulled her hands and said "No" and sparkled. Sai pretended to be annoyed and smiled. Sai said "I will start counting the kisses . One day I will give you back in double. So be ready". Shree giggled and said "Ya sure". On the way home ,Shree choked and tears poured down. She had no choice rather to accept Sai's separation and consoled herself that this was just a temporary situation.

I have no choice rather to take her help 

Days went by . Sai arrived each month and both met in their home. That Tuesday Shree called Sai and told him about her project . She  said that she needed  a book which will be available only in cities and also mentioned the book name. Sai said  that he would buy the book and courier to his address. Shree said "I have only one day . I need the book". Sai said "Do not worry , It will reach you". Shree asked "How ?". Sai said "My cousin is studying in tamil department in your college. She lives in my street. She will handover the book to you tomorrow". Shree exclaimed "You have a cousin studying in my college ? You didn't tell me ?". Sai said "She is not that important to me. Her name is Kalpana , BA Tamil II Year" ". Shree said "Okay. Take care" and disconnected the call. The next day , On the way to college Shree again called Sai. He said " The book reached my place. Kalpana will bring  the book to the college. You don't know her , but she knows you as you are the singer in the college. Do not tell anything to her, If she asks anything , Say just we are friends". Shree said "Yes". Sai again stressed "Kalpana was pestering my mother that how I get to know you. So please  be careful with her. As you need the book urgent, I have no choice rather to take her help". Shree said "Okay" and disconnected the call. 

That makes my doubt intense 

Shree waited that Kalpana would come to her class and handover the book. But nobody came. So , she hurried to the History department in the break. She was about to enter Kalpana's class. She heard two girls talking. Girl 1 said "What is this book , so big book. seems like a Physics book". Girl 2 said  " Yes , My Cousin gave me this book to handover to Shree". Girl 1 "The girl who sings right ?". Girl 2 "Yes, Exactly. If she wants the book , Let her come and get it. Am I a servant for her ? . But.....I am thinking how they know each other. Shree is beautiful. So, I doubt something". Girl 1 said "Doubt what ?". Girl 2 said "I heard through some people in the street talking that a fair girl keeps visiting Sai's home frequently. I guess that would  be Shree. I strongly doubt they love each other". Shree entered the class and smiled as if she heard nothing. Shree asked "Who is Kalapana here ?". Kalapana and Girl 1 blinked at each other and was shocked.  Kalpana said "Ya , I am Kalpana" and handed the book to Shree. Shree smiled and said "Thanks" and stepped out of the class. Kalapana said  to the Girl 1"Phew ....Did you notice one thing. She didn't say  me to convey thanks for Sai, That makes my doubt intense". Shree stepped inside Kalpana's class again and said "Sorry yar , Just convey my thanks to Sai" and smiled wide and left the place. Girl 1 looked Kalpana in a mocking way and said "So , now what ??". Kalpana bit her teeth in an annoying way and said "She will be caught one day. Lets see".

Do not Gossip 

One day Shree went to meet Sai in his home. When Sai and Shree was talking in the living room, Suddenly a girl entered the home exclaiming "Anna(Brother)!!!". Shree saw her and smiled. It was Kalpana. Kalpana avoided Shree lethargically and didn't smile back. Kalpana said "Anna (Brother)! It seems your friend visiting your home frequently ? What is the matter ?". Sai said "Kalpana , What are you expecting me to tell you ?". Kalpana lethargically said "The truth". Sai said "Yes , We love each other , Then what you need to know?". Kalpana pretended to be happy and exclaimed "Oh is it! I am so happy for you". Sai said "Don't spread news in the college. Do not gossip. Understand?". Kalpana said "Hey Anna(Brother)! Don't mention it!  Never ever I'll do those silly things". Sai smiled and mockingly  said "I know about you" and gently tapped on her head. Kalpana went near Sai , held his hands and said looking at Shree "You know , I am always the first dearest to him". Shree understood her motive and smiled. Sai understood that Kalpana was just trying to show off to Shree. Sai looked at Shree and blinked in a playful way. Shree said "It is getting late. I am leaving". She bade bye to everyone and left the place. 

Did Shree fooled you ?

Kalpana said "How did you get to know Shree ?". Sai said "Her sister is my friend and I am her family friend too". Sai's Mom interfered "You know.... Shree is the class topper and she is good in studies". Kalapna lethargically said "Who said so? I heard that she is not that good in studies". Sai smiled.  Kalpana asked "Did Shree fooled you saying that ? .  I heard through a friend that she always thinks too much about herself and she'll praise herself before others". Sai said "I think , its time for you to go home". Kalapna said "Whatever , nothing can be done now . You carry on. But don't believe beautiful girls !". Sai said "Okay , Madam . Bye". She bade bye to everyone and left Sai's home. The next day , The news spread like fire in  history department. Days passed. Her semester exams arrived. Shree as usual performed well. Semester holidays went like a wink of an eye. 

Stop the tuition!

It was the final year for Shree. One fine evening, Shree was taking tuition. She heard a loud gate opening. She just popped her head to see who opened the gate so hard. It was Akhila. Akhila was restless and she hurried inside the home. Akhila rushed inside shouting "Shree ! Come here as fast as you could". Shree felt nervous and ran down. Shree asked "Why are you shouting like this?" and saw a white cover in her hand. Akhila hugged Shree and jumped. Shree was clueless. She took the sweets from the sweet box and over filled her mouth. Shree mumbled. Mom too was puzzled , but she was overjoyed seeing Akhila shouting and jumping . Akhila shouted "I got a job in Chennai" and continued shouting  " As a lecturer in a leading Engineering college". Shree now jumped and shouted "Oooooooooh Yeeyyyyyyyyyy". Akhila shouted "Half of our problem solved. We move to a better home. Shree ! You can stop taking tuition , as this is your final year. You have loads to study". Shree smiled and said "Yes". Shree's Mom and dad were happy that Akhila going to city for work. That weekend , Akhila packed all her things and started to Chennai. Shree never deeply thought Akhila these days. The separation made her to remember Akhila so much. Akhila convinced Shree saying  "Do not worry , One more year. .. You too can come with me to Chennai and find a job there". Shree smiled blank and nodded. She said "Take care". Mom said "Call me daily". Dad helped her with the luggage and said "Take care . Reach the place and call us". Shree with the heavy heart waived her hands to Akhila. The bus left from the place. They fixed  all their eyes on the bus till it disappeared from their sight and returned home. A week , Life was very tough without Akhila. After that week , everybody was used to it and was back to their work.

What ???.... No....

That day , Shree was busy in the class. The lab assistant entered her class  and said "Shree! You are wanted by HOD". Shree jumped from her seat and went with the lab assistant. Shree asked "You have any idea about what she called  me for ?". The lab assistant said "Shree ! What did you do. The HOD was annoyed and She seems to be angry at you". Shree was  confused and scared. Shree asked the lab assistant " Are you sure?". The lab assistant said "Yes, whatever she asks think and answer. Handle boldly". Shree gave a fake smile and went inside the staff room. The HOD saw Shree and asked her to come to the physics lab , so that they can talk in private. Shree had a fluttery feeling in her stomach. Her hands and legs started trembling. Her heads started rotating. HOD took a chair. Shree stood obediently folded her hands in front. The HOD cleared her throat and in a hard tone "Shree! I can notice a change of behavior in you". Shree blinked. The HOD continued "Do not pretend". Shree said in a low tone "Madam ! I really don't get what you are talking about". The HOD said "Shree , I heard a news about you that you are having a love affair". Shree was shocked and asked "What ? .. no". The HOD said "The news came from a trustworthy person". and continued "If we hear such things and if it is proved ,The student will be given TC without mercy. Discipline is important for us. I know you are a good girl and a topper expecting University Rank and I have recommended you for the best outgoing student award as well. As I respect these in you , I don't want to take any action and so  I am talking to you. Just remember you are from a poor family". Shree stood silent. HOD asked "So what you say?". Shree was ready to face the problem. 

Shree cleared her throat and said "Before I deny what you said . I just want to know who is the trust worthy person ? How dare they say something like that about a girl? . Madam  , You called me  and discussing about this instead of taking action on me,  made me really proud. This shows that it was hard for you to believe the trust worthy person as the charge was on me. Madam , I need to thank you  for that . Again I say I don't have any affair". She brimmed with confidence when she said so. The HOD said "It was the HOD of  Tamil department". Shree blinked and said "Why should the HOD of tamil department should charge me with such blunder?. I was confused". The HOD said "It was told by a girl in her department . The girl was very close to the HOD and she said that you are in love with her brother". Now Shree understood everything. Shree said "Madam! Can you be able to call that girl and ask  her about this in front of me". HOD started believing Shree as she spoke with confidence. The HOD thought she was courageous too. Shree said "We had some controversies in our college cultural with Tamil department. The rapo was not that good with them . So this may be the reason for them to create this issue. I wonder , how people get down to this level ?". HOD said "I believe you , But you need to do one thing for me to trust you completely". Shree nodded. Shree was tired and asked to herself "How long I will bare these ? God help me". She was ready for the next arrow that HOD going to shoot at her. The HOD said "Promise on  Lord Ganesha who is in our college temple that you didn't have any affair"

And Now , I can hear you saying "Oh my god ! Critical situation ! What Shree will do now ? Will she promise or surrender?. What will she choose Sai or Studies?.How she going to handle this ?". And I say "I could imagine that scary feeling in each and everyone of your face like Shree. All I say is "Patience" Friday is not too far :)"

SHE'S ONE OF US - CHAPTER 21

               

   





Synopsis :

"Phygio", the Intercollegiate was a great success. The boys college bagged the overall shield. Shree met Guru in the intercollegiate. Shree and her friends joined Guru and his friends in their celebration for their winning. Shree and Guru got an opportunity to share their thoughts. Their friendship started growing day by day. She usually park her cycle in front of her home and would park in her balcony around 8 at night. When she came out to take her cycle inside the balcony. She was shocked and horrified.




It was my dearest


Shree was shocked and tears rolled down and exclaimed "Oh my god ! Where is my cycle?". She ran down the street to find anyone was there. The streets looked like a graveyard and there were no heads around there. She ran inside her home and cried "Amma , Akhila...  Cycle was gone".  They both hurried to the balcony. Mom was tensed and said harshly to Shree "This is the reason , I always tell you to park your bicycle in the balcony before 8 pm. This happened just because of your stupidity". Shree couldn't bear the words and thought "Oh my god , I lost my cycle because of my stupidity? . I usually takes my bicycle and park it  in the balcony only at 8.00 pm. What an unlucky day". Though she knows , the bicycle is not her's anymore, She was restless in the street running. After an hour Akhila and her mom called her inside . Akhila consoled her. Shree said "My cycle...... , you know how it really means to me. It was my dearest". Akhila said "It's okay , I understand , but nothing can be done" and continued "I doubt , the boys roaming in this street only would have taken the bicycle, if you are lucky it will come to you again". Shree with tears said "It won't come to me , I am unlucky" and continued "I heard from my friends that people taking others things won't have with them for long time, they would make money out of that. My bicycle is gone for ever ..Oh no....." and continued crying.



No Certificates ..Give me Five thousand Rupees



That day , she couldn't sleep. Without her cycle, she felt one of her arms was broken. She could not stop thinking of her dearest bicycle. She laid down in her bed and starred at the roof. Her thought went backwards.
...........

Shree and her family came to this town 3 years back. She and her father were standing in the queue for 11th admission in a government school. Shree was very much upset about the infrastructure and the environment of the school, as she studied in a fantastic Matriculation school in her place. But , she had no choice to join in that school. Her turn came , She showed her tenth mark list and other certificates to an old man sitting in the chair and there was a  table in front of him. She heard people talking that he was the correspondent of the school. The old man said "No certificates ....Give me five thousand rupees to get your admission or leave the place". He was not polite. She was completely taken back and astounded. She pleaded "But , it is a government school , Why I need to pay money ?". The old man said "Don't talk much"  and pulled her certificates from hand  and continued "You had studied in a Matriculation school and would have paid in thousands and thousands , Why can't you pay here. Actually I demanded only half of the money" and laughed lethargically. She told "Sir .. I have studied in scholarship. I will not be able to pay that much. Please help". The man said "Don't waste my time ...Next please". Shree was helpless and worried. She realized getting a seat even in government school was a hardest thing without money. She told her father everything. A man standing near over heard everything and said "Arrange for the money or get some recommendations". Shree said in a sad tone "We are new to this place". The man asked Shree's father about their caste and community and gave a card to meet a person. The man said "They have a group of people here under this community who helps poor people for their education. You meet the person in the card and get his help". Shree thought the man was sent by god to help her. They hurried to the place.



Where this man came from ? Jumped from Heaven ?



Shree and her father reached the place. It looked like a printing office for calendars and dairies. The place was congested. They were made to sit in a chair in front of a table.After five minutes a fair guy around thirty years old, wearing spectacles came inside  greeting them and said "I am Sarathy , Head of the "X" Community". He was polite and asked the reasons for being there. Shree's father said everything to him and asked for help. Sarathy said "Come here at 8.00 am tomorrow and collect a letter from me and give to the correspondent in school and It will help". Shree and father nodded and said "Thanks" and left the place. The next morning they came to Sarathy's place and got the letter from him and went to the school. Shree was happy that she was going to get the seat , But it happened otherwise. The old correspondent took the letter and read it and put it aside and said "Nothing will work here except Money". Shree blinked "What ?????". They both hurried to the Sarathy's place and told him about the correspondent response for the letter. Sarathy himself hurried to the place and spoke to the correspondent. The correspondent was so arrogant and very tough to deal with and finally the bidding at the auction ended at two thousand rupees. Sarathy paid the money through his Trust and said to Shree's father "Take care , You don't want to repay the money" and looked at Shree and said "All the best. Excel in your studies". Shree wondered and admired Sarathy and talked to herself "Do this earth has still creatures like Sarathy? Where this man came from ? Jumped right from the heaven just to help me?. Though she is younger to bless him . She wished him a long live and his family".


You have no option .. Tolerate Tolerate ...



After she joined school. She struggled for each and everything specially for toilets. The toilets were not like toilets. Untidy and no water. She couldn't even step inside it. Maintenance was terribly bad. She said to herself "You have no other option .. Tolerate Tolerate....." and exhaled. She was going home in bus as she don't have bicycle as other girls. The bus stop was five minutes walk from her school. It will take around twenty minutes to reach the bus stop of her place and she need to walk 15 minutes from the bus stop to her home. It was not a fine day, Shree went to school. She has some stomach trouble and badly need to use the toilet. But thinking of the sanitation and nil water, she decided to control it. The class was over. She ran to the bus stop, Unfortunately it took twenty minutes to get a bus. She said to herself  getting into the bus "Is the bus been driven slow or is it my thought?. Is this the theory of relativity which we study in Physics .. Oh no ...". Finally she reached the bus stop of her place in 20 minutes.



Letting everything go from her heart through her tears



Fifteen minutes walk seem her like a very hardest thing in the world. She couldn't even walk fast. She became sad and tensed thinking of her situation. She somehow managed and reached home. She ran to the toilet and was shocked. It was occupied by someone else as it was a common toilet for three houses. She had no option rather to curse the person inside and waited patiently. She prayed to god to give her strength. Somehow the person came outside, She went inside the toilet and found out that man was using the toilet for smoking. She said "Oh Lord .....................". Finally she came out of the toilet and went to upstairs and had silent tears. She thought "I would not have struggled if toilets were available in the school or at least if I own a cycle, this would not have happened". All she can do was just had letting everything go from her heart through her tears.




Ride it , You will learn !



The next two days , she managed to go to school in the bus. That fine morning Shree's Dad suprised her with a bicycle . The bicycle was not new , But to Shree it was precious. She loved the bicycle and was happy and asked her dad "Appa , How did you get the bicycle?". Dad smiled and said "I was already said to Sarathy about this and he said he would help me with the bicycle and asked me to wait. Yesterday , I went to his place , He gave this cycle for free". Shree thanked Sarathy from her bottom of her heart and thought she was always grateful to him. Next started Shree's naughtiness. She asked Akhila "Bicycle is fine. How to ride it?. I am afraid of the traffic in the road. I am not a good rider. I know to ride , But not very good and I don't know to balance". Akhila said "Ride it! You will learn". Shree blinked and said "Do you think so?". Again she had no choice to ride the bicycle. She kept her bag in the carrier behind and drove the pedal. The handle bars started shivering horribly. She get down from the bicycle and looked behind. Akhila showed gestures to go ahead. She started and again her hands shook , She closed her eyes for a moment and exhaled deeply and said to herself "I can do it". Shivering stopped. She rode the cycle with pride and confident.




                       

Wisdom - Uncle or Grandpa



Shree sobbed heavily thinking of her lost bicycle and came back to the present from her sweet memories of her bicycle. She can't believe her bicycle was lost for ever. She finally made up her mind that people may steal the bicycle but not her memories. She tend to remember her dearest friend , the bicycle then and there. From that day , Shree took the Mini bus to reach her college. Whenever she enters the bus , she saw an old man sitting in the first seat with white Shirt and Dhoti. The old man said "Give your bag". The bus was little crowded and Shree gave her bag to the old man. She said "Thank you Thatha (Grandpa)". The old man was furious  and said " Am , I looking like an old man , Call me Uncle". Shree blinked and said "What ??? Oh no ..." and exhaled. The old man said "What? Won't you call me Uncle?". Shree with a fake smile "Okay , Uncle, I daily see you in this bus , that to in the same seat. Where are you going and where do you reside". The old man said "I reside two stops before the beautiful girl's bus stop". Shree blinked and was clueless. The old man continued "That beautiful girl is none other than you . I am going to my work in the town". Shree was surprised that an old man talking like this but she liked his attitude of working even at that age. The old man asked her name. Shree said "I am Shree". Since two months , She met that old man in the bus. His name was Gnyanam (meaning Wisdom). The old man spoke to Shree about his family that he has a daughter and two sons. Everybody got settled and were in different towns. His wife died an year ago and he was single. He was making money for his life and send some money for his grandchildren during festivals. While saying , Shree felt great dignity, pride and happiness in his eyes. He never showed his sorrow missing his wife and children. He was so happy. Shree wondered how could a person be this happy without his family. The old man said "Nothing is permanent in this world. We should live happily till our last breath and happily go when god makes a call from heaven. This is life.".



Why I need to worry about the bicycle?



That Monday , Shree hurried to the bus stop. She entered the bus. But some lady was sitting in the first seat. She searched for the old man in the bus. But he was not there. Shree asked the lady if she knows about the old man. The lady said "Sorry , I don't know whom you are talking about". Shree said "Okay". She thought that old man would never missed a day to go for his work. She was worried if he was unwell. Suddenly all buses were struck in the traffic. A heavy crowd passed the Mini bus. Shree was dumb struck on seeing the crowd. She saw the old man, but couldn't be happy seeing him. She saw the old man (Gnyanam) on the bamboo made pall carried by four people . His big toes been tied together , his hands been placed palm to palm position and cotton stuffed in his nose and ears.
Shree was totally out of the world. The crowd disappeared after few minutes. She saw the seat which the old man sits usually. She couldn't stop her tears and remembered the words of Gnyanam "Nothing is permanent in this world. We should live happily till our last breath and  happily go when god makes a call from heaven. This is life". She wiped her tears. She hope that he went to God happily and prayed that his soul should rest in peace. Whenever she entered the bus , she always smiled at the seat. She thought when people are not permanent in this world , Why I need to worry about the cycle which I lost. It came to me for a reason and now left me. She hope there should be a reason for that too. She even thought  meeting that old man Gnyanam(Wisdom) too happened for a reason. She understood that Wisdom is a virtue that isn't innate, but can only be acquired through experience. Though it was bitter to digest that a man who lived yesterday was not alive today, She understood a great thing from this. Yes ... She understood "Life".

And I can hear you saying "This is really a tragic episode and we are craving for romance and happiness" . and I say "The next upcoming episodes will not only a stunning and shocking experience for Shree ,but for you as well". Here is a gist ...A girl in her college will try to spoil her whole future. The shocking thing is, She is related with Sai . Wait for the shocking suspense ....

SHE'S ONE OF US - CHAPTER 20

                                         

Synopsis :

As Sai said Shree to get out of his home without saying a reason , Shree got upset and didn't turn to Sai's  side for a week. As Sai wanted an apology and realized the mistake Shree made him conclude his fasting. Priya realized Shree was her best friend. Maha and Shree became good friends after the cultural.


Intercollegiate


Shree and her friends decided to conduct a physics Intercollegiate in their college. They told their desire to the Head of the Department. The HOD thought a while and said "This is a very great thing and a tough thing too. There will be lot of work. Can u people be able to do this?. Team work is a vital thing. I'll talk to the Principal and let  you know". Shree  and her friends nodded their heads and went back to the class. It was the subject class. Girls were  eagerly waiting for their new lecturer to come in. There came a young lady , slim , wheatish and attracting  just out of college. She looked perfect in her look, the attitude and her vocabulary.  She said "Hai girls ! I am Vidya. I am your new lecturer for Electronics. Just introduce yourself to me and then we can start our class". Everyone said their names. The class was started.  She was really fascinating. She mesmerized all the students by the way of her teaching and her encouraging talks. As she was young , she became a good friend  to the girls as well.


Miss Vidya -Taken charge

The next day , The HOD called the girls and said "I talked to the Principal. She said to proceed and was happy that we made this decision. It is definitely going to be a good experience and a learning too. Miss  Vidya will be in charge for this and she will be guiding you". Miss Vidya who was standing by the side of the HOD smiled. The girls were extremely happy that they can easily mingle with Miss Vidya and work for the Intercollegiate. They thought of new ideas and suggestions and brought to her. Most of the ideas been approved by Miss Vidya . They started  executing their plans. Miss Vidya encouraged the girls to do everything on their own. She asked to prepare the Welcome note , Thanking note , compering notes for competitions and guided them whenever needed. The date been fixed and  they sent communication to 25 colleges out of which 22 colleges responded. They were so happy and vigorously prepared for the competitions. Mona took the responsibility to buy Trophies and shield. They were very much concerned that nothing should go wrong as this was their first intercollegiate. Shree had a huge responsibility in the intercollegiate and she became very close  to Miss Vidya at that time. They chose a title too. It was "PHYGEO". Everything been planned in a systematic and technical way. Each of the student was given a responsibility. Shree and Mina took the compering part and also responsible for some off stage competitions.


The "Phygeo" Day


 That fine day arrived. Shree and her friends wore an uniform cream white saree. They looked like a group of bunnies dressed in sarees. The girls and boys of various colleges been arriving and they registered their names at the entrance. There were signals in each and every place and some girls to guide them to the auditorium , canteen etc. Shree came to the registration counter to  convey some instruction which Miss Vidya told. Guru was registering the  names of the boys of his college. Shree said the information in a lower tone and left the place. She noticed Guru , but Guru didn't notice Shree as he was busy in registering the names. She  went to the auditorium and informed Shiba and Priya about Guru. Shree asked  "Did you two know that he is coming for the event ?". Shiba said "Yes". Shree shrunk her eyebrows and told "You didn't tell me about this ? Why ?". Shiba blinked and said "We were busy and we forgot to tell". Shree became annoyed and said "That's fine. Carry on with your work". Shiba did that on purpose because she don't like Shree and Guru becoming friends. Shree asked Priya "Did you know that he is coming ?". Priya said "Hey , We were really busy and I thought Shiba would have told that to you. I promise". Shree shook her head and left the  place and they all proceeded with the arrangements.



Your friend is not even smiling at you



Guru's eyes were searching Shree all the time. The program started with the devotional prayer song by Shree , Shiba and Priya. Finally Guru saw Shree on the stage. He was so happy to see her. He smiled at her but she didn't smile back. Guru was confused and went to his competitions. Shree was in charge of the competition which he was participating. It was model display.  Guru told his friend that Shree was his best friend. Shree came to the venue and instructed the rules to the participants with a rigid face. She saw Guru standing by her side but pretended that she didn't notice. She said to the participants "You can start now and be ready with your display after one hour from now". Guru's friend asked "Your friend is not even smiling at you ?". Guru said "Hey , I didn't smile at her , so do her. Work first...for both of us" and exhaled deeply inside and got a lot of confusion in his mind about Shree not smiling. The judges were examining all the displays. Shree was busy in a stage show and hurried to the model display venue. She saw the judges shooting so many questions to Guru. Guru smartly handled all the questions. Shree just stood behind the judge and heard all his answers and smiled to herself.



Shree smiled inside



 After Guru's display , the judge moved to the next participant , It was a girl. The judges didn't show much interest on her work. The girl got distressed. Shree was been called by Miss Vidya, So she hurried and left the model display venue. Guru saw  Shree  running out of the room and realized she was present when he was explaining his display to the judge. After few minutes Shree returned to the room and find no one in the room except Guru , his friend and a girl crying in the corner of the room. The girl was disappointed and broken up for the reactions of the judges for her display. She was continuously crying . Guru consoled  her by his words and motivated her. Shree didn't make a move and heard everything from staying outside. Shiba and Priya came to the venue and saw Shree standing outside. Shree  keeping her index finger on her lips said "Ssshhhh". After few seconds they three entered the room. Shiba asked "Guru , How did you do the model display ?". Guru saw Shree and answered "Didn't your friend tell you ?". Shree saw Guru for a second and took her glance off from him. Priya asked "What happened to that girl? Did she cry? You know her ?". Guru said "Hey , she is from a different college. I don't know her . She felt so depressed and we consoled her. Nothing else". Shree smiled inside. Guru saw Shree and said "Hi, How are you . Very busy?". Shree  nodded  and said "Hmmm".



My friend is stubborn and rigid because she is dignified



Guru saw Shree holding a paper pad and some papers clipped on it and guessed it was the result of Model display. Guru asked about the result to Shree, but she pretended as if she didn't hear him.
Guru stressed and asked "I am very curious to know the result , Can you tell please?". Shree shook her head and said "No". Guru said "Please". Shree smiled and said "No". Guru said "We are leading now to get the shield. if we get 1st place in model display , Our college is sure of getting the Shield". Shree was so stubborn and said "No . After an hour , you will  get to know the result announced in the stage". Guru was upset and turned to his friend. He saw Guru in a mocking way and said "Best friend ??". Guru felt insulted and was upset with Shree. Though he felt such an unpleasantry situation , he said his friend "Oh my god , I took advantage of her friendship and compelled her to tell the result. What she'll think of me?. I am proud that my friend is dignified"  but Guru's heart was not in peace.


Second place


They all assembled in the auditorium. It was the animation competition held . Guru presented an animation presentation. He presented it very well. All the time Guru was looking at Shree who was sitting at the front and explained the concepts. Shree smiled with glittering eyes and Guru too smiled in between while explaining. Shree was sure of Guru getting the first place , but unfortunately the professor from his college was one of the judge. They decided to give him the second place as they thought it should not become a prattle that they are partial. When the final results been announced , Shree and her friends were shocked and hurried to Miss Vidya and the HOD and asked for the reason . The HOD explained the situation and said that it would no way affect bagging their shields. They had no choice rather to go with it. Guru bagged first place in model display and when he came to the stage , He saw Shree looking at him and smiling , though he felt like smiling , he didn't smile back and pretended as if he was upset with Shree for being rigid and stubborn. Shree realized that he was just pretending and smiled.





                                            



Guru wanted to answer "NO", but he couldn't



The Mic been handed over to Shree . Shree saw Guru and announced the grand final result. The Men's college bagged the overall shield and shouted in excitement while the  announced was made. The Principal of the college handed over the shield to the team. The program was over and they came outside the auditorium. Shree headed towards Guru and smiled . Shree said "I need a favor from you?". Guru wanted to answer no, but he couldn't by seeing her eyes. Guru said "Yes , tell me". Shree said "Can you give the Shield for a minute. Me and my friends will take a picture with the shield and give it back to you". Guru giggled and saw her like a child who wishing for a toy. Shree requested "Please .....". Guru without a word gave the shield and smiled. Shree thanked  him and ran with the shield towards her friends. Guru came near them and  said "I will take the snap" . He got the camera and clicked. Shree smiled and said "Thanks". Guru said "You are always welcome".



Thanks for understanding


Guru walked a few steps and turned to Shree. Guru cleared his throat and said "We are going to celebrate our achievement , just going to the near by restaurant and have some snacks. Would you like to join?" . Shree thought a while and saw Shiba and Priya . Priya said "Ya of course , We will". Shree blinked and said "We have some work here . We'll finish it and join you if possible". Guru doubted that Shree won't come and he  said "That's fine we will wait". Shree said "No no .. you guys proceed". Guru said "No , You are coming . I am waiting for you". Shree was stunned and said "okay ...". Shree, Shiba and Priya joined Guru in their celebration. Shiba and Priya were talking to Guru's friend about the intercollegiate. Guru cleared his throat and said "So,....How are you? ". Shree said "I am good and how about you ?". Guru said "I was waiting for this opportunity to talk to you". Shree smiled and said "Is it ?" and continued "Sorry for not revealing the result. It is the rule I should not disclose it". Guru said "Hey come on.. Don't mention it. I am the one who need to apologize to push you in that situation". Shree smiled and said "Thanks for understanding".



Hard Punch for Shree's silly  thought



Shiba's eyes were fixed on both of them. Guru said about him and his family. Shree heard everything and praised him for his technical knowledge and talents. Guru said "Phygeo ... I won't forget this in my life time. Wonderful experience". Shree was little doubtful about Guru that he was trying to convey her something. She doubted that he fell in love with her. The next question from Guru was  a hard punch for her thought. Guru smiled and asked "How is Sai ? ". The next moment she saw Priya and said to herself  "Oh my god , How can she say this to Guru. I believed her, but ...". Though Shree was shocked , she didn't show off in her face.  She said "He is fine" and became so nervous and couldn't be normal. Shree said "Who said about Sai?". Guru said "Priya". Shree said "Hmm . Fine.. Can we talk something else".


There is a very thin line between Friendship and Love



Guru said "Whenever I see you , I realize a deep feel of friendship. I really don't know what you thought about me". Shree said "Guru , I like you so much the day when I saw you first without a reason. Now when I came to know about you, I realized you have  very good qualities , so now I respect you so much for that". Guru smiled. Shree continued "To be frank , a minute before , I thought you were in love with me. I am so sorry for thinking like that". Guru smiled and said "There is a very thin line between  friendship and love. Not everyone understands that. Friends may fall in love with each other, We can't say that is a mistake. But there is some relationship we can't think otherwise and so is my friendship for you. Even before I heard about Sai, I don't have that thought. After hearing about your love , How could I think otherwise. So do not worry. Guru is your best friend always and ready to help you in tough situations". Shree was so happy that she got a wonderful friend with the same thought and character as her.  Shree smiled and said "So .. My friend , Help me with my project" and twinkled. Guru chuckled and said "Fine , of course will".



A sweet friend always refreshes the soul


Shree saw a book in Guru's hand and asked "What is that book ?". Guru showed the book and said "Physics of the Impossible". Shree got the book and saw the contents of the book. She raised her eyebrows and said "Interesting". Guru got the book from her hand and took a pen from his pocket and wrote something on the book and handed over to Shree. Shree opened the book and read the words . "True friends can grow separately , but without growing  apart"  and  "A sweet friendship always refreshes the soul" - To my Friend Shree , By  your friend Guru". Shree was so happy reading those words and she said "Thanks for the Book" and smiled. Guru smiled and said "Read the book carefully, I will ask you question when we meet next time"and sparkled. Shree smiled and shrunk her eyebrows and said "Can you take your book back , Please". Guru said "Hey I was just kidding". Shree chuckled and said "Me too...".  The celebration was over and everybody bade bye to each other and left the place.



We were wrong


Shree stopped  Priya  and asked "Hey , Why did you tell Guru about Sai?". Priya whispered "Me and Shiba doubted that he fell in love with you as he was asking about you often. So we had no choice to tell the truth". Shree said "Not only you , me too thought that way. But we were wrong. Shree will be always Guru's best friend ever". Priya was so happy that Guru and Shree spoke frankly and they understood each other. Shiba was also relaxed that they understood each other and Guru was crystal clear in her thought. Friendship is a relationship of mutual affection and understanding between two people. One of the most beautiful qualities of true friendship is to understand and to be understood. Shree and Guru did that part correctly even without talking. They rarely met in Shiba's home and Priya's home, but their friendship was growing and growing as they both felt their friendship in their heart. Days went by. Shree and Guru as usual saw each other on the way to college and smile at each other. One evening , After her college , Shree parked her cycle in front of her home. As a regular act , She came at 8'o clock night outside to take her cycle and park it inside the Varanda. She was horrified and shocked. Her heart beat faster and  she was completely shaken. Her heart became heavy and tears rolled out from her eyes.


And I can hear you saying "Awwwww Suspense ..." and questioning " Chella !! Why was she so scandalized and knocked down?. What she saw outside ? What made her cry ? ". I say "Sure , I can understand your curiosity. Patience Patience Patience.. Only a week to go . Meet you Next Friday "

SHE'S ONE OF US - CHAPTER 19

                                               





Synopsis :

Shree met Sai's mother in his home. Though the first meet was a big clunker for Shree , She couldn't leave her love for Sai for any reason. She learned to smile at all instances happened in Sai's home. Shree lost her totally in love. Whatever happens , Shree thought Sai would understand her and will be supportive.

"I said Get out"

That Saturday , After college , Shree visited Sai's home. Shree parked her cycle and was about to enter his home. She saw Sai standing starring at her in the balcony. She smiled at him and said "Hai" and was about to keep her first step inside. Sai said in a harsh tone "Stop , Don't come inside , Leave the place right now". Shree was shocked and asked "Why? What happened ?". Sai angrily said "Do not ask me anything , If I say leave , Just leave". Shree asked "Are you out of your mind ? Just tell me what happened ? Did someone said something?. I will come inside , We'll talk about this . Please. It is embarrassing" and tried coming inside.  Sai said "I said get out".  Shree had no other option rather to leave,  as Sai was so stubborn. Shree exhaled deeply and stood for a few seconds and looked at him. Her situation was pitiable. Shree was totally puzzled and her heart became heavy of his behavior. She wants to know the reason for Sai's actions. 

She left his home and came to the telephone booth .She called Sai, but he didn't pick the first two calls. Shree dialed his number for the third time , he picked. She said "Heloo , Shree , What happened ?". Sai said in a polite tone "Reach  your home safely". Shree in a depressed way "Whatever happens , You should not acted in that way. Don't you ever think what I'll feel like while someone saying to get out of his house. I really feel shame-faced". Sai said "I understand...". Shree said in an agitated  tone "You don't understand. If you understand you could not have done that. I need just one thing. The reason for it". Sai said "Okay , I will tell you what happened , Before you came, I was talking to my mother. She said that , it wasn't good that Shree coming to our home before getting married. So she told me to tell you not to come". 

Shree said "If that is the case , you could have told me after getting me inside your home and  told me straight". Sai said "I was fighting with my mom for saying so and I don't want you to come inside in that situation". Shree said in a sad tone "Whatever it is , You can't justify your action. I won't come to your home hereafter . Bye!" and disconnected the phone. On the way  home,  Shree had tears in her eyes. Her mind thought "Is this love ? Love makes sad .It is painful. Love made me happy , but the same love made me sick at my heart. I couldn't find my happiness in love. Love made me feel ashamed, get insulted, slaps on my face by words. It made me embarrassed and uncomfortable. I couldn't tolerate Sai insulting me at any cost . I couldn't accept the reasons he said. Did I need to lose my  dignity for love ? ". Her mind thought lot of things which made to lost her peace totally. She decided to be quiet and calm for few days. She was upset and furious at Sai for these actions.

"This is regarding your boy friend"

It was Monday morning , Shree started to her college. On the way , she saw Sai coming in the bike in front of her. She pretended that she didn't look at him. Sai was so upset and couldn't accept Shree doing that. He realized how his action have had hurt her feelings. The whole week , Sai saw her on the way, But Shree was not ready to look at his face. Sai was vexed and stopped having his food. His mother and his sister were worried as he didn't come out of his room and not having his food. It was Friday , and it was lunch time. Shree was called by the security in the college that someone been came to meet her . Shree was so confused and hurried to the entrance. She was shocked to see Sai's sister sitting at the entrance. Shree went near her and smiled and asked "What a surprise ? What is the matter,  you have come to my college? ". Sai's sister said "This is regarding your boy friend". Shree smiled and said "Why and what happened to Sai ?'. Sai's sister said "I know what happened that day in our home. I feel sorry for that, He too want to apologize to you , But , I heard from him that you were not even turning to his side. He was totally upset for that and he is refusing to have his food for past two days. Me and my mother begged him , but he was not ready to hear us. I think , if you come home, He will be definitely become normal". Shree don't know what to tell her. She couldn't accept Sai being like that. She was so upset and with no thought she said  "Don't worry , I will come home today evening". Sai's sister said "Okay , thank you . Bye take care and see you in the evening" and left the place.

"Will you forgive me ?"

In the evening Shree went to his home , Shree saw Sai's Mother sitting with the gloomy face mixed with anger. Shree was little embarrassed. She greeted his Mother and asked "Where is Sai?". His Mother with a fake smile said "He is in upstairs". She hurried upstairs and didn't expect permission from anyone . Sai's Mother was shocked by Shree's actions but she don't have any other option to make Sai back to normal. She entered a room and saw Sai lying in his bed. She cleared her throat and said "Sai". He saw Shree and said "I am so sorry". Shree  went near him and gave a banana and said "Can you finish your fasting by eating this". Sai ate the banana without uttering a word  and said "Will you forgive me ?". Shree said "Try to forget that. But please don't repeat the same in future. I got so worried and sad because of your action. Sai said "No never , I won't do this" . 

"The sweet hard slap"

Shree smiled and said "It is getting late, I am leaving" and was about to leave. Sai pulled her hand towards him and said "Did you  really forget all that have happened? " Shree smiled and said "Yes". Sai said "If so , You need to come to my home as usual". Shree thought a while. Sai said "What ?   Will you?". Shree smiled naughtily and said "Yes , I will , But conditions apply " . Sai looked confused. She continued " I can't see your sad face like this anymore. If I need to come here, you want to smile always look happy ". Sai smiled and pulled Shree towards him and tried to kiss  on her cheeks. Suddenly he opened his eyes , Shree was out of his hands and hurried downstairs. In a second , he don't know what happened , but his right cheeks were aching. He realized that he got a hard slap from Shree for trying to kiss her. Though it ached , he smiled and came downstairs following Shree. Sai's mother was shocked to see Sai coming down having half banana in his hand. Shree smiled and said "It is getting late" and bade bye to them and left the place. Sai's mother didn't talk a word to Sai . She couldn't accept Sai getting back to normal by Shree instead by her. Sai somehow convinced his mother. His Mother realized Shree was not only Sai's love and life ,but she was his soul. She thought that their love was more stronger than a motherhood, she even got jealous of Shree for that. But thinking of Sai , She was not ready to oppose his wish as well. So she kept calm as she believed that after marriage she could control Shree as a mother in law, However She didn't realize that Shree was controlling Sai with her beautiful love.

"You are first year and I am second year"

Days went by. Shree , done with her second semester exams. Semester holidays were over and she was back to college.  She was seeing Guru daily and they both were smiling at each other. Shree reached college and saw Maha and was perplexed. Maha came near her and said "I joined M.com here. It is very hard to leave you" and gave an irritated smile. Shree smiled and said "Congratulation . But you know you are a first year student now , and I am a second year student" and giggled. Maha starred at Shree and said in a loud tone " Hey , how are you talking like this ?. Just get out of my sight". Shree said "Hey , you came and talked to me voluntarily. If I need to get out of your sight , you have to leave the place and Not me". Maha said "All my bad time" and left the place. Shree smiled. Semester results came. Shree got very high marks and cent percent in Maths and subjects. 

What did you do ?

There was an announcement of cultural program in a college in the near by town. Shree and Priya participated in singing competition. They started in a Van and were sitting together in the Van. Van was about to leave the campus , but suddenly stopped. A girl in a hurry got into the van. Shree and Priya saw each other. Priya said "This is Maha , Student's president". Shree smiled and said "I very well know her. In fact we are thick friends. She has joined  M.com this year". Maha saw Shree sitting in the van and starred at her in an unfriendly way. Priya was perplexed and murmured to Shree "Hey , Is she starring at you?". Shree whispered "Yes". Priya didn't expect "Yes" from Shree and was shocked. Priya said "Are you nuts ? She is  student's president. What did you do ?". Shree saw Priya lethargically "First , I need to ask you a question. Are you my friend or her's ? How can you ask what I did ? Ask what she did" and continued "Moreover ,She is not President". Priya  said "What?...". Shree said "She was ...." and smiled. 

From the day one , I saw you 

Shree said everything happened with Maha. Priya exclaimed "You haven't told this to me before .Why??". Shree smiled and said "I don't want to create her a bad name in others . I thought , she would change . But still , I feel she is angry on me. Now I tell you this because you are my best friend , I believe you don't discuss this with anyone." Priya became very emotional "Do you think I'm your best friend ?". Shree said "Hey , Of course, From the day one when I saw you". Priya didn't realize how she meant for Shree these days. They talked and talked. Priya said  "If anything she says , we will handle her together. Okay ?" and showed per palms. Shree smiled and tapped Priya's palm and nodded. Van reached the college. Maha was leading the college girls and gave instructions. They were  given a room. Shree and Priya obeyed all the instructions and they left their things in the room and went for their competition. Competition was over and they came back to the room . 

Her costume looks different

Girls were busy doing their make-ups for dance. Shree and Priya started helping them. There came the announcement "Shree and Priya won First prize in singing competition". They both were overjoyed and hugged each other. The girls gave a loud clap as their college got a prize. Maha was starring at her and was busy with her make-up. Priya smiled and whispered in Shree's ears "Is she going to participate in dance , Oh my god ". Shree giggled and said "No her costume looks different , It is something else. Lets see". Priya went near Maha and asked "Any help ?". Maha said "Can you take two safety pins from that pouch?". Priya took safety pins and gave her. Priya asked Maha "Sister . Which competition are you going to participate?". Maha starred at her and said "Did your friend told you to ask this to me ?". Priya became nervous and said "No no , I just asked. We were done with our competitions and just want to watch other performances" . Maha lethargically said "Fancy dress competition". Shree couldn't control her laughter. On seeing that Priya too started laughing. Maha didn't notice Shree laughing , but she asked Priya "Is anything funny ?". Priya said "No no . I just smiled and All the best, Do well". Maha starred at her and went to the venue. 

They couldn't smile, but blinked out of shock

Maha's costume was like a ghost. She wore a Saree with loose hair. The make-ups on her face was little scary.  Shree and Priya followed her. They were curious about what Maha going  to perform. It was the last event. Maha was called to the stage. She stood in the center of the stage and raised  one of her hand in which she had an antique anklet. Shree now understood what she's going to perform. A girl down the stage said in the Mic "Kovalan and his wife kannagi lost all their properties and went to Madurai city. Their only asset was the precious anklets (Chilambu)  filled with gems. She gave a anklet to her husband Kovalan to make some money and start their life. But unfortunately , around the time he set out to sell the anklet, One anklet (out of pair) of Queen's was stolen by a greedy court member. The Anklet looked very similar to Kannagi's and the only difference is Kannagi's anklets been filled with rubies and Queen's with pearls, but that was not a visible act. Kovalan was accused of having stolen the anklet and immediately beheaded by the King's guards without trial. When Kannagi was informed of this , she became furious. Here come's our Kannagi to prove her husband's innocence to the Pandya King". Shree and Priya looked at each other , but they couldn't smile, but blinked out of shock. 

Shree , the Pandyan King

Maha furiously blasted with dialogues. It was so real and finally she cursed the city Madurai on fire. Shree completely realized the Kannahi's Pandya King was none other than her. All the time , the furious Kannahi was looking at Shree and shouting. Priya said " Is she looking at you and yelling the dialogues?". Shree gave a fake smile and said "Yes!" and jumped towards Maha who was right out of the stage. She went near her and  pulled her hands and shook. Shree said "It was an awesome performance. Even the real Kannahi been beaten up". Maha didn't expect that from Shree . Shree continued "I know...... the reason behind your ferociousness and anger was  me. You used that in a positive way. Keep it up. You are going to win the first place. So half of the prize is mine" and twinkled. By the time they heard the announcement "First Place in Fancy dress competition is bagged by Kannahi ...Maha from Women's college". Shree and Priya shouted "Hey Hooooooo We got the first place". Maha was perplexed and saw Shree in a different way. 

"I feel some chemical reaction in Maha"

Priya asked Shree "Are you nuts? She , all the time thinking of you in the stage and said the cursed words as if she was saying you, But you are ,congratulating her". Shree smiled and said "Whatever , I liked her acting , It was really awesome and I love Kannagi. She is a brave woman who demanded justice straight from the King and even dared to call him "Unenlightened King"". Priya was half mouth opened and said "Wow , That's good Shree. I need to learn a lot from you". Shree said "Oh come on! Nothing to learn". They bagged the shield and happily left the college. On the way Shree told Priya about Sai and his family and her love. Priya was awestruck hearing that Shree fell in love, however she was happy that Shree would definitely selected a good guy. Maha was looking at Shree in a friendly way. Priya murmured to Shree "I can feel some chemical reaction in Maha. See her look , lot of difference".  Shree said "Yes , I know... But do not see her. Lets see what happens". Priya giggled. It was 8.00 pm , they reached the college. Priya caught a bus and left home. 

""Treat" is not always about money"

Shree came out of the college and saw Sai waiting for her. Shree said "Hey , How you are here,?" Sai said "I just saw a Van going inside the college and I guessed you will be definitely inside the van. Come , I'll drop you in your home.". Shree looked Sai and shrunk her eyebrows. Sai said "Okay  Okay , Not in your home , but near your home. Come... it's 8.00 pm". 
Shree smiled and sat behind  him. Shree held him on his shoulders and Sai started the bike. Shree said "I and Priya bagged first place in singing competition". Sai was so happy and parked the bike. He saw the prize and congratulated her and asked for a treat. Shree said "No money , No treats". Sai naughtily smiled and  said "Treat is not always about money". Shree said "I know what you are trying to tell. No treats". Sai smiled and said "We are near your home". Shree said "I will get down here. Bye take care and I'll call you". Sai said "But ,where is the treat?". Shree smiled and had a glance around her to make sure that no one was there. She pinched Sai's cheeks and walked three four steps front. She turned to him and kissed her hands that pinched his cheeks. Shree jump walked to her home in happiness. Sai smiled and followed her and made sure that she reached her home safely and left the place in joy.

The Sweet Punishment 

 "Half of the prize belongs to you"

Next day , In the prayer the trophies been distributed to the students and the shield too. Maha was looking at Shree in a very friendly way, but Shree just smiled at her and turned. Priya said "Hey , It seems Maha became your best friend and wishing to talk to you. She is smiling at you". Shree whispered "Her starring face is much better than this" and twinkled. Priya said "Oh girl...". Shree said "Just kidding" and giggled. While dispersing Maha tapped Shree's shoulders. Shree very well know that was Maha and turned shouting "Who is dared to touch my shoulders in this college". Maha blinked. Shree pretended to be surprised "Oh Ex-president, Yes .. How can I help you? ". Maha said "Don't act much. From the day one , I like you so much. But situation was not favor for us and also I got jealous which developed hatred on you". Shree was surprised now and said "Ohhhhh.....But am I talking to Maha, Mcom first year, ex-president. I couldn't believe , Is it a dream? " and pinched Maha. Maha shouted "Awwwww...". Shree laughed and said "OH my , It is real" and ran to the class. Maha chased her and said "Get the pinch back". Shree reached the class and both of them laughed. Shree said "Okay , Pinch me". Maha was about to pinch , but she took her hands off. Shree asked "What? Not pinching". Maha said "Let that pinch be a sweet punishment for what I did". Shree smiled. Maha bagged a cup trophy and a medal for fancy dress competition. Maha said "Half of the prize belongs to you" and sparkled. Shree said "Hey , I was just kidding that day. No no  Keep it". Maha said "Have this Medal, It will remind me whenever you see this . Keep it safe". Shree smiled and took the medal from her hand and smiled. Maha was not that happy in her life before and went to her class.

And Now , I can hear you saying, "What suspense this time?". And I say "Suspense .... not really. But here is a gist. It is about blooming friendship of Guru and Shree. Friendship between a girl and a boy is not always leads to love and marriages. That friendship is felt by inner heart and not through eyes. For such a friendship we need a rare boy and a rare girl.
